Ragetti nudged Jack to give him a little push. "He seems to be a little troubled, Cap'n," he said sagely. "His experience with the Kraken 'as influenced him both mentally and psychologically."
Somewhere in the back of his mind, he wondered what 'psychologically' meant.

Portia finished wrapping her hand and then walked back onto the deck of her ship. She saw Pintel, Ragetti and Jack there already. She nodded to them and slowly walked over there. She seemed to have drank some rum, because she was walking a little sideways.

Portia raised an eyebrow and seemed almost shocked. "Ye... Ye can't see? Yer blind?" She waved her hand in front of Jack's face, to see if he would move his eyes back and forth like any normal person would do in a situation like that. "Ye do remember me though, right?"

"I'm not sure of anythin' anymore love..." Meanwhile, as Portia's hand waved infront of his face, Jack's eyes ceased to move or follow it. They stared ahead of himself, almost as if he was looking past the world into another dimension.

Portia swallowed hard and dropped her hand to her side, when she realized his eyes weren't following it. "Don't worry, Jack. Yer in good hands now. I promise. Hold onto me hand and I'll get ye some rum." She took his hand in hers and slowly led him below deck. "Watch fer tha steps, mate." She made sure that he didn't fall.

Jack followed her down the stairs, still swaggering in his usual fashion, so that was a good sign none the less. He sighed deeply feeling lost in the world he used to know.

Portia brought Jack into her sleeping quarters and set him down on the edge of her bed. "Alright, mate... we've been through a lot together. But this... is just too much fer me ta handle. I've been lookin' fer ya fer a long time. This kills me. It really does." She got a glass and poured the rum into it. She gently placed it into his hand.

Jack gripped hold of the rum, afraid it would slip out of his grasp. "Don't worry love...it already killed me..." His eyebrows curved inwards, before he slowly lifed the rum bottle, found his lips, and took a swallow.

Portia raised an eyebrow and kneeled down in front of him. "Wait... what do ya mean, mate?" She took off her hat and set it beside her. She wished that Jack could look at her, but he couldn't. She sighed and looked over his face, for any type of clue as to what he was talking about. Nothing.

Jack lowered the rum bottle and fingered it with his thumb as he sat there on the edge of the bed. "...Doesn't matter mate, how's the rest of the crew? Did they make it away from-" He stopped and swallowed, but forced a smile, "...said terrible beastie?"
