Meleth looked at him still, and a corner of her mouth turned down sympathetically, but she knew not how to pull Sadron out of his sudden depression.

Finally, Roina urged Harma to catch up, coming beside Meleth. She had a stern look on her face, and sat straight up, and looked forward. Her aqua eyes seemed far off, and dreamy. Her mare didn't seem much different, she kept to a steady, almost perfect, pace. Neck curved, and stepping high, the horse looked to the horizon, dark liquidy eyes seemed as if the horse was thinking... or dreaming, yet kept surefooted...

Meleth did not look sideways, lost in her own thoughts and occasionally in Sadron's. She felt as though they were on the brink of something that was much larger than Sadron made it out to be, and wondered with curiousity what his sister was like.

Sadron spurred his mare on,glancing often at Meleth, sorry, perhaps for his haughty manner.
He seemed to feel every jolt that his horse made, as if he was one with it.
Air blew past wildly, throwing his pale, icy blond hair into wild disarry.

Meleth did not go faster, merely rode on, waiting for Sadron to calm down a little. He seemed jumpy. She began to absently play with a strand of silver hair that had come out of her carefully arranged crown of braids.
