The Orcs were driven back now, but there would be no victory. Many villagers and soldiers had died. Miriel thought about her brother, her village was still in danger too. She saw another rider, a woman, riding towards her.
"Please," Miriel cried, "There're still people trapped in burning houses.. Can you assist me by helping them out..?"

Miriel cast a grateful look at the woman before pulling up the fabric of her cloak over her nose so she would be protected against the smook. Her eyes burned and breathing was difficult as Miriel looked around through the howling flames.

She went along, not protecting her face, but she kept movig,and saw a woman and a young child. She made her way over, and said, "Come with me!"

Nenya swung her sword round and cut into an orc. She broke the door down to a burning house and climbed in past the rubble and debris.
"Anyone here?" she yelled, over the crackling of the fire and clatter of steel outside. A cry gave her her answer, Nenya quickly knocked down an orc and climbed the stairs to a burning bedroom, where a family was trapped.

Miriel carried a little boy in her arms, protecting his face with her cloak, while the wooden beams of the house croaked. Outside she quickly put him down to go inside one more t ime: there was also a girl who seemd to be stuck beneath an already burning wooden beam.
Miriel coughed as she tried to position where she'd left the girl; her vision hindered by all the smook.

Deawen had been discovered by her brother Adrod carried her to the the golden hall. once She was in saftey he leaped on Bredols Back and charged off to finish the remining orcs.

Nenya shieled her eyes from the smoke, the air in the room was limited and difficult to breathe in, Nenya needed to save the family quick, she broke down the door to the bedroom, to find bloodied figures laying on the floor, the bed and carpet was a sticky red. Nenya swore, this family was dead, she turned to leave, but was stopped by a young girl, half dead tugging at her clothing. She must have been hiding, Nenya knelt down and picked her up, wrapping her face with clothe to shield her from the poisenes gases.

"Is there still someone here?" Miriel shouted, but half of her sentence had been replaced by coughing, her voice suffocated by the smook. But still Miriel's keen ears heard a high sniffing above the howling flames. She ran over to the corner of the room and tried to lift the beam, which had fallen on the leg of the little girl. Her attempts were no use, the beam was too heavy. The lilttle girl cried and Miriel looked around her in panic: she was surrounded by flames.

Theodwyn coughed, as she got the two out, and went to another house, hearing a cry from a child. She ran up, the stairs, and looked around, coughing even more, Hearing another cry, she turned, and saw a boy. They were blocked from each other by flames, and Theodwyn knew she had to jump.

One last time Miriel tried to move the beam, she could barely breath and the fire had already blocked her way out. With all her strength she pushed one last time and finally felt some movement in the wooden post. Miriel bowed over the beam yet she saw the girl had died, probably by a shortage of oxygen.
Miriel was frustrated, her breaths were short and fast while her eyes scanned the room. The door was blocked, it had to be the window then.
Again she covered her face for the smook and flames, yet she knew there was little chance of getting out of this safe and sound.
Miriel ran and jumped, all the oxygen was pressed from her lungs and for a moment she could only inhale smook. Then there was suddenly the light of the rising sun and Miriel found herself outside, she'd dived in the good direction then.
Her arm hurt, the flames would probably have burnt it, but the first thing she noticed was that the Orcs where gone, leaving the burning houses.

Nenya bashed down the front door, her eyes were watering and stingy, her lungs were filled with smoke. "God.." she whispered, staggering out into the open air. She laid the girl down on the floor, she was unconcious. Nenya swore. "Someone help!"

Rienna turned, hearing someone call for help. She ran down the stairs, half tripping, and looking around. She spotted a burning house and Nenya outside with a small girl. "Are you all right?" she asked, kneeling down to see if the girl was badly hurt.

"She's out cold." said Nenya nervously, wondering whether to give the girl mouth to mouth to recucitate (sp?) her.
