Gandalf finally reached the shire, both horse and himself clearly exhausted from the trek from Minas Tirith but neither showing it. He grinned when he noticed the few lights that remained on in the night was at the local pub. Most likely where he would find the ones he needed.

Pippin sighed. "Well, I feel I must sleep if I'm going to get anything done tomorrow. I'll see you chaps in the morn'en!" Pip stood up and gave his mug to the barman before going towards the door. He pushed it open and waved at his friends before walking out the door.

Pippin awoke and rub his eyes. "Ohhh...fireworks time!" He put on fresh clothes and an pair of old shoes and headed back to the Shire.

Ilythiiri was racing about in the Party Field, greeting early guests and giving out presents. She was balancing a large platter of food on one hand, had a bag of presents dangling from hr elbow and with the other had dissuaded a persistent hobbit-child who wanted more than one gift.
