But I'm strange and when I do have nails long enough for them to be painted pretty colours, they look so babyish that I scrub it off again with normally makes the nails soft and easily bitable.

I bite my nails, and I've never been much for nail polish. I hardly ever wear it. I just don't like the way it looks on me.

Happy Birthday!!
As for my nails - they are my despair! I don't bite them, cos I need them for palying guitar. But that means that I can never really paint them, since thet right nails are longer than the left. That also means that they have to be in perfect shape all the time, otherwise I'll get caught in the strings. But I wouldn't stop playing for all the world.
Do any of you play an instrument??

I've never bitten my nails before, thankfully, and I rarely ever paint them. My toenails look a lot better painted than my fingernails do. Right they are painted soft pink.

It just seems that the varnish peels off ever so fast and it's a real drag to repaint them!!

I don't like having my fingernails painted, but I do my toes often to cover up their yuckiness. When it peels off, I just redo it. Sometimes I put a clear coat on my nails to make them shiny. 
And I used to bite my nails endlessly, but I can't anymore with braces!  Yes, sort of weird, but it works for me... _________________ <center> all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us

I had problems with biting my nails for many years, but some time ago I stopped it. When my nails have a nice length and I painted them, they look too nice. I can't bear it to bite them and to destroy my work then  . At the moment I have a clear coat on them, so that they are pretty shiny. Usually I don't take any colour nail polish, just this "french manicure" stuff to whiten your nail tips... _________________ ~The Dreamy A-U Gentlewoman~

It was awful, but the best part is you can blame anything on them, such as when your parents make you eat something you don't want to..."But they'll hurt my braces!" That only worked occasionally....darn peas......

I bit my nails all through having braces, the othodentist gave up trying to stop me biting them. _________________

Braces were the actual reason why I stopped biting my nails. It hurt too much and I had to endure them for three years or so...
