"If i die, I see my wife...death is just another road...one that we all must take. Besides if you shoot me i fall back and my knife goes through his neck. But we can talk this out, me with my knife round his neck and you sitting down."

If looks could kill, Dernhelm would have been pushing up the daisies then and there. But glaring daggers, Meleth sat down, keeping her arrow on the string. She glanced at Miriel and Fearan, then looked back at Dernhelm and said icily, "Very well. Talk."

Fearan smiled, almost laughing. " Perhaps I shouldn't have pulled all those pranks as a child. Though you have to admit that one with Firiel where...he suddenly cut himself short, remembering that the man whom he had caused much embarresment was standing behind him with a knife to his thoat. "This is bloody insane" Fearan muttered. Years of training took over as he firmly grasped Dernhelm's knife-arm with both hands. By stepping to the right, he opened Dernhelms arm. A quick flurish and his hands changed positions on the arm. Another step to the right and he was standing behind Dernhelm, with Dernhelm's arm twisted behind his back. Fearan pushed Dernhelm's hand and elbow towards eachother, ethough not too hard: Fearan didn't want to break his wrist. The pressure applied opened Dernhelm's fingers, and the dagger fell to the ground. All this was done in under a second. Fearan stomped on Dernhelm's dagger, and grabbed his dagger. "Now there are three of us, and one of you. And though you may not have known it, all of your "revenge sprees" helped me do that." It was true. Dernhelm with revenge on the mind, even if it was friendly, was a nasty thing, and Fearan had to learn quickly to defend himself.

(Hello! Starting tomoro, I will be gone for a week. Feel free to powerplay me. But don't kill me, or make me look really stupid. And that move I just wrote down, I learned it in hopikedo lessons at school. I could never do it in real life, but Fearan can! Yay!)

"I'm very sorry for you Dernhelm," Miriel said, though she had difficulties with feeling pity for him.
"Still, is this a reason for mocking us? We've been in battles and gone through perils and sorrow. Is it so hard just to respect the fact we are women?"

(( Bye Nauriel! :bye2: ))

"Well, I do take that risk and responsibility. You don't have to do that for me." Miriel replied. She sighed and gazed at Fearan and Meleth. This delay was taking too much time.

(Okay, maybe one or two more posts...My cousin doesn't get here until six)

"What about all those men who go to battle, and leave thier wives widowed?" Fearan asked quietly. "Is there not the same grief attached? They no doubt believe that men should not fight, to save other women from the fate they now have to endure." Fearan looked Dernhelm in the eye "Nay my friend, there should be no war, no fighting, no bloody death. But it is inescapable. The best we can do is choose our battles wisely, and fight for a nobel cause. Don't deny women thier choic to fight. They have every right, just as we do. And I too share in a part of your grief. Though I only knew her briefly, your wife was, and still is, a great woman."

Meleth looked at Dernhelm, her gaze piercing. "Just because one woman died does not mean we all will, and it is not fair or even logical to deny us the right to defend what we love." She stood up impatiently. "We cannot delay any longer, the sun will rise soon. I am sorry, Dernhelm, but you cannot accompany us."

"She was not just one women!!! She was my wife, and the only reason i am so unwillingly to let you go is because i don't want another man to feel the same heartache i feel...the same pain. I do it because i care...Now, i shall go to the aid of the grey company...Oh yes, did i tell you? Aragorn, King of Gondor is with them...he is a member of that companyI go to his aid as well."

"I know your pain Dernhelm. Maybe I did loose my family many years ago the pain did not become less. But I choose this life, there aren't many left to cry for me anyway." Miriel said quietly.
"I appreciate you share this information with us now, better late than never. But I don't think it will change our plans.." she looked at Meleth

(Drag you by the legs? Okay)

Fearan licked his lips, and drew a big breath. "Dernhelm, you will be extremely hard pressed to find a seasoned soldier who has not lost sombody he or she loves. I have lost many friends, sain in battle not ten feet away from me. I loved them like a brother, and the pain is still near. But I can't let the pain slow me down. I fight like my friends did, and do them some honor." He brushed away a tear that sprang to his eye. "De you forget what I said mere seconds ago? You are not the only one suseptible to this pain. How many women are left widows because of war? My own sister lost her fiance in battle, fighting besides him. Yet she still fights now, because that is what he would have wanted her to do. Your wife would want you to keep fighting alongside women." He clapped Dernhelm on the shoulder. "You said that Aragorn the king was present at the battle? You have named the Dunedain's victory right there. I have never seen a better swords man than he, and he can lead his people to victory with ease. Come with us, Dernhelm." Fearan avoided the stares of the women. Frean furrowed his brow in concentration. "Could we not ride to the Dunedain's aid, then enter Mordor by another way? Suerley they will not be expecting it, and they have reasesed the orcs in that area:it will be only lightly gaurded."

"Nor would I" Fearan said. "But there is another passage, through a small canyon. There are very few orcs, and mand over hangs to shield us from enemy eyes."
