yeah a tetanus shot is what they give you when you get a wound from something old and rusty and dirty ect.

Yeah, I think so. At least if you don't have a vaccination or get one pretty soon after you were injured. Nasty business!  *shivers*

my friend stepped on a rusty nail, got a tetanus shot and died*nods sagely* no she didnt die...

yeah, we were walking barefoot in her grandparents backyard(on a farm/acerage thing) and i saw it but didn't step on it. We were going back into the house wehn she stepped on it. She just froze, looked down and there was this rusty nail poking through her foot. A bit of blood was oozing out and she just started screaming.

I think something similar happened to Sean Astin while filming FOTR. I read somewhere that he stepped on a piece of glass or something that was beneath the water while they were shooting the scene at the end of the movie when Frodo leaves in the boat and Sam tries to swin towards it and nearly drowns.

Well, I also heard that Sean wasn't the only one who got hurt.
Orlando fell down from a horse and broke a few ribs and Viggo broke his toe while kicking the orc helm in TTT when he thinks they have lost Merry and Pip and he also lost a teeth during a fighting scene...
