(That'll work fine. Now, you can figure out a way to join in, or you can wait for an opening, if you'd prefer.)

(Ok, that'll be fine..and I know I'm double-posting, but I want to get things moving a bit..)
After about thirty minutes, Aradan finally finished getting ready and started out of his room, but remembered his circlet at the last moment and went back to get it. After putting that on, he looked every inch a Prince. He was dressed in fine robes in varying shades and hues of green, and despite the warmth of the day, was quite cool. Shaking his head, he once again started to leave, only to, quite literally, run into Legolas out in the hallway.

"Absentminded much?" Legolas asked jokingly, and Aradan shot him a glare. "Don't start, Legolas.."

"Very well." came the response, as Legolas plucked boredly at his sleeves. He was dressed in robes similar to Aradan's, but in shades of blue instead of green, and looked quite annoyed at having to dress in full royal regalia. Aradan looked immensely amused by this, then said, "Come on, let's go see if Elwen's ready yet."

"Knowing her, she's not..takes her more than an hour, you know." Legolas replied with a slight grin, and Aradan chuckled softly. "True.."

With that, the two started off down the hall to Elwen's room, and as Legolas stopped several yards down the hall, Aradan went straight up to the door and knocked. The only response to his knock was something hard hitting the door, and Aradan jumped in surprise, while Legolas laughed. "You've just made her mad, I think."

"I'll be out in a little while!" came a snapped response from inside the room just then, and Aradan and Legolas looked at each other. "May as well wait." Legolas said, shrugging, and Aradan nodded in agreement.

After they had waited about thirty minutes, the door to Elwen's room finally opened and she walked out. She was dressed in a dress of green silk and gold scrollwork, with a train trailing from the back of it, and a lace-up back with golden ties. Her hair was also worn down, but held out of her face by a delicate silver circlet.

"Well, what a trio we make." she then said, after looking at Aradan, then Legolas. "We actually look like royalty for once." Both agreed with a nod, and Aradan then said, "Come on, we've probably got guests to greet already.." Turning as the other two groaned, he walked away, looking a little amused. Legolas and Elwen looked at each other for a moment, before following their older brother.

(And if you can't get a mental picture of Elwen's dress, here's a couple reference pics..: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v732/ ... 6side2.jpg

A while later, a thouroughly dirty and smelly elf made her way up to her rooms, meeting her equally dirty and smelly twin Sadron.
No words needed, they pushed into their rooms at the same time, and slammed to the doors loudly.
Groans could be heard, as they opend again, and andswitched the rooms again.
It took the Marchwarden the whole of ten minutes to wash and dress, her brother, a 'Hunter' as they fondly called the elite troop trained to care for the woods and to ensure that evil that was, did'nt mulitply and retun again.
"Nice... "Rhavaniel smirked, dressed in the formal attire befitting her rank, as she beheld her brother. "Is that... Dont tell me thats a flower pinned to the front!"
"Rhan, I dont know how you do it..."
"He'll pick on you for it...."
"Look-!" he began heatedly, then stopped a gruttal swear word as it began to form. He waited untill the group of elf-maids had passed, then stormed after them. His sister, in his wake, trying not to laugh.
"Peace Sadron! Look, I wont tease about her, if you take the flower off."

True to Aradan's prediction, the royal siblings indeed already have guests to greet, since most of the nobles seemed to like to arrive an hour early..this meant they were stuck repeating the same greeting over and over and over..

"If I have to say that one more time, I'm going to go mad!" Elwen muttered in a lull in the guest procession, then she stifled a groan as they once again had to repeat the greeting, and she did so with a partly-forced smile.

"Once it's over, we can just relax for a while..until dinner." Aradan said in an undertone, leaning close to her for a moment.

"Very funny Pia- But he's in luurve!"
"Shut up! I'm not Pia, she's just being ... Herself again."
Rhavaniel grinned, showing unnatrual teeth, and laughed, pale cheeks flushing slightly. She had been extra careful today; her long silken curls hung down her back in an most allurering manner, the colar at the nape of her neck, hanging low down the whiteness of her back; her emerald eyes stood out as some of the soft hair had been braided close to her head, keeping it out of her eyes.
Sadron smiled at Pia, blushing with a slightly differant manner- He had not, like his sister, the self-esteem of some god, but was calm, and quiet, enjoyed reading rather than archery, and a single candle or guest to the bustle of many.
"At least your off duty..."Rhavaniel added wistfully as they entered the hall."There she is 'Ro! Now, give her the flower, and then we'll begin this pointless madness..." Rhavaniel urged, sidestepping a group of guests, to stand nearer the King, hand placed on the heavy sword at her side, seeming more like a man than her blushing brother who had made his way over to the elf-maid he had been so embaressed about.
Rhavaniel hovered her way to her father.

An elf with long silver hair entered one large door, looking a little bewildered. She knocked into one tall elf and apologized profusely before hastily getting out of the way of all the people. She smoothed down her long violet dress and looked around, hoping to see someone she knew, even very vaguely.

[-chops own head off, and fries it in oil-]
Spotting her friend, Rhavaniel disappeared from her fathers side, and headed over to her, not so gently moving him out of the way.
"Meleth! Eru-! I thought I'd never seen you again!"

Meleth's head came up when she heard her name and her face split into a relieved grin. "Rhav! I forgot you'd be here!" She grasped her friend's upper arm in the elvish manner of greeting and said, trying very hard to be casual, "So - I suppose Sadron's here too then? How are you both?"

"He's.. Better than when you last left him... Still can say boo to a goose though... What of you? Did you know my cousin Rissien is supposedly on his way here? Have'nt seen him in years... Supposedly very well thought of in Imladris..."

As the endless stream of greetings and responses continued to flow, Elwen began to feel lulled into a near-stupor, so much so that she barely even recognized anyone around her anymore..

Meleth grinned. "Only Sadron. Rissien, hm? I don't think I've ever met him." She looked sideways at Rhav. "I suppose 'well thought-of' would generally mean he thinks well of himself as well?"

Lorwen smiled with relief as she entered into the party. Maybe now her mother would finally quit pleading with her to behave. She behaved... at least most of the time. She gave a sigh as her mother whispered the word “behave” one last time in her ear for good measure. “What does she expect me to do?” Lorwen thought with amusement. “Does she think I will find some way to ruin the whole party?” With that thought she started to walk around hoping to find someone she knew.

Sadron smiled shyly at her "Elwen ..." His dark head bowed slightly, a smile on his serene face. With long fingers, used to playing the lute and writing, he held out the small flower; bowed again, and backed away.

Rhavaniel laughed "I haven't seen him for the best part of a centruy, so I cant tell you..." She picked at the hem of her heavy robes; long thick fabric thrown over the black gown she wore with extreme clumsiness underneath.
"This is really a waste of time is it not?"

Rissien entered the room, following his mother. His silver blond hair was combed straight down his back, giving him an air of perfection that was underlined by his smooth skin and bright grey eyes that flickered here and there with mild interest. Beside him walked his elder brother Locien, who walked with similar stance, and more dignity.
Slightly ahead, next to their mother walked Yará, their older sister, whose occupation was ever changing, though she, like brother often sang and or danced for a living.
Rissien was Lord Elronds most beloved minstril, his brother a high standing scribe in the Last Homely House.

Meleth raised an eyebrow and looked sideways at Rhavaniel. "This promises to be an interesting evening." She said impassively. "A waste of time - definetely. But interesting nonetheless."
