I'm partial to the movie PotO soundtrack rather than the 1980's London PotO soundtrack with Sarah Brightman. But they're equally great in their own way.
I think my favorite track from the movie soundtrack is the Think of Me/All I Ask of You (being the fangirl that I am).
In the London soundtrack, I LOVE the Masquerade track.

She's spectacular.
And Micheal Crawford too, as phantom...lovely.

Well actually the only original song I ever heard was Music Of The Night..just beautiful. So I was disappointed with this new version.
My favourite track would probably be Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again or Masquareade or Think Of Me....or All I Ask Of You...or Past The Point Of No Return...

i state and re-state that i am completly in loooove with point of no return....yep...and right next are music of the night and phantom of the opera.....now i do love sarah brightman's voice very very very much! i also like Emmy Rossum 's voice, now im not going to say that sarah's (or emmy's) voice is better, cause they have very different type of voices....now the only original song i've heard is the phantom of the opera, but i would very much like to watch the old film...i've heard nothing but good things of it

I have heard Sarah Brightman's Christine, but as I have heard Emmy's a lot more I tend to lean towards the latter. Considering Emmy is not actually a singer ? I think she sang really, really well.
oh i couldnt agree more....also remember that she was only 16 when she played christine!! i mean, voice not completly developed and what a voice it is!

A really exceptional voice for one so young. And also someone who was not originally a singer.

The casting director stumbling upon Emmy was such a stroke of luck. Emmy did an amazing job as Christine Daae, and I couldn't ask for a better one.

^Men neither. Although I was not really familiar with POTO before hand I thought she did an amazing job. I really liked Christine.

Yeah, I guess Emmy Rossum did OK, no she did really well, not just ok, i was completely convinced when i first saw the movie. buuuut, i do admit that every time i listen to the PotO soundtrack, I ALWAYS skip the Phantom of the Opera (the song) and put Sara Brightman's version on instead. Bieng that I heard that song before i saw the movie, usually the first version you here, you like better, because humans are stubborn, and so I really don't like Emmy Rossum's version of that song..but that's about it...=D
