I just love the Masquarade song. It just brings such colourful images to your mind, even of you haven't seen the film. Yay for ALW!! :notworthy:

Yay for the Masquerade song!

If Mornie lets me, I would love to show the video of the dance (the one with the fans) so far. We've been trying to learn it, and when we stopped, we had made quite some progress!!
=D

Well, I was always curious as to the casting.

Because I've always thought the actress who played Meg had a good likeliness of Miranda Richardson, and so did the girl who played young Madame Giry.

For me, I've always understood that it was Meg Giry in the present-backs so.... I don't know...

Ah, well for me it's weird because I have seen Miranda Richardson in loads of things, so knowing she was Madame Giry, there was only one onclusion for me when we saw Miranda Richardson at the Opera House.

We were discussing the fact that in the opening scene when we see the old Roaul and Madame Giry - I never realised it was Meg, because the same actress who played THE Madame Giry also played her daughter when she was older. I also never knew a totally different actor to the young Roaul played the elder one. :-)

Present-backs are my....... word for.... the black and white sequences in the movie.

Since the majority of the movie is in flashbacks, coming from the present scenes with older Raoul and older Meg, I refer to those scenes as present-backs.

Ok, thanks...wow, I just learned a lot about the actors and your "present-backs" that I didn't know about!
I didn't know Miranda played old Meg, I totally thought it was meg...with make-up!

It can get quite confusing. :P I was kind of lost when I first saw the movie, at least for a little while. :)

Everything about older Meg did have the elegance of Madame Giry in her. I don't think someone could inherit genes and be so similar to their mother. @_@
