(Thanks Turwaithiel . Raven-hope you don't mind I played Legolas for a bit)
Elenriel breathed a sigh of relief as the mysterious flock of phoenixes flew to their aid. Her leg throbbed with intense pain and had the aid not come as it did, she did not know how long she could hold back the attackers. After whipping the sweat from her forehead, she drew back her hand only to notice the blood-an unknown injury she had received during the battle. Elenriel quickly scanned the woods and seeing the injured she quickly moved to help them. A sudden pain shot up her leg and she had to place her hand on a nearby tree for support. Suddenly, she found strong arms encircling her, gently sitting her down. She turned in surprise to and found herself staring into the gentle eyes of her husband. A warm smile traced her lips then.
“Beloved, thank Eru you are well!” she exclaimed in delight. A small smile traced her husband’s lips, but soon faded into concern.
“You are wounded melamin. Do not exert yourself.”
Elenriel smiled thinly at him and shook her head.
“I have seen enough death. I will not needlessly let another perish.”
With that she quickly applied a healing salve to both her injuries before flashing her husband an 'Are-you satisfied' look. Legolas smiled at her in amusement before sighing, knowing full well the strong-will of his wife. Elenriel turned from him them, remembering for the first time the birds disappearance into the trees. Something was amiss.
“The birds-they seemed to want us to follow it.” With that she gingerly got to her feet and walked into the woods, her husband close beside her.

Meleth slid down into a sitting position against the tree. She dimly was aware of Elenriel and Legolas going somewhere but didn't care - all she wanted to do was keel over and sleep somewhere. Her eyes closed and she forced them open, pulling herself up and holding unsteadily to the tree trunk.

(np. hey, i'll play the little birdies for an while, i guess.)
The flock of 20 or so baby birds waddled through the deep trees, there feathers slowly coming back. They started walking through an thicket and on the other side of the thicket was standing an very beautiful white horse. But, something seemed to be troubling her.

(Just a quick question, Legolas would know Turwaithiel right?)
Legolas and Elenriel continued to follow the young birds-their song leading them deeper into the woods. Though the path was straight, their pace remained slow due to the injury Elenriel sustained in the prior battle. More than once Legolas urged his wife to turn back and rest, but each time she refused, sensing that a friend lay in grave peril. Suddenly, a jolt of pain shot up her leg causing the princess to stagger. She quickly leaned against a neaby tree for support, as she waited for the pain to pass. Legolas gazed at his wife in concern as he drew her against him.
"Elenriel, you must rest." he whispered gently in her ear.
Elenriel shook her head as she closed her eyes to fight against the searing pain. "No." she responded in a hoarse voice. "The birds led us here. A dire event has transpired. Why else would they beckon us so? We must continue." She paused briefly then and she gave her husband a wan smile. "Do not fear for me. I shall be fine."
Legolas reluctantly nodded his acceptance to her decision, and the two continued onward only to see a beautiful white mare standing agitated in their path.
"What is it, mellon nîn?" Legolas asked the mare as he gently rubbed her nose to soothe her. The horse gave a whinny in response and quickly turned and moved a few steps forward before looking back at both the prince and the princess. Elenriel slowly walked forward to stand beside her husband. "Lead on friend." she replied softly as the two followed the mare.

The mare led the couple along the path, stopping near the prone body of an elven maiden amid a sea of orc and warg bodies.
“Turwaithiel!” Legolas cried, racing to the maiden’s side and gently lifted her in his arms. Her shoulder was badly torn and an arrow protruded from her bloodied side. Elenriel quickly knelt beside her husband, inspecting the wounds. “She’s alive.” Legolas whispered to her as his she knelt beside him.
“Orcs…how I despise them…” she whispered under her breath, her eyes aflame with rage. She turned then and looked her husband directly in the eyes. “We must remove the arrow, but I dare not break it for fear that it may pierce her further. I will have to cut it out.” she replied grimly.
“I will heat a blade.” he replied as he gently lay Turwaithiel down and turned to start a fire. Elenriel nodded as she used her blade to trim the shaft. She then gently placed her palm around the wound, placing a numbing salve around the wounded area. After some moments, her husband returned with heated blade and handed it to her, knowing she underwent the training to perform such a task. Drawing in a deep breath, she placed the blade to the wound and cut out the arrowhead, quickly applying a healing salve to the wound to seal it. She then bandaged the wound and turned to tend to her shoulder injury. She quickly applied a healing salve upon the wound and covered it with the remaining bandages she had. Smiling wanly at Turwaithiel, she gently pushed back a strand of hair and uttered an elven healing chant. When all was done, she turned to look up at her husband.
“I have done all I can. But these next few hours are critical. Let’s just hope the arrow was not poisoned.” she replied softly.

((*Is a little lost* Okays...I'll just be by a fire too then...))
On the other side of the fire, Meleth sat, looking unblinkingly at Turwaithiel. Her gaze shifted to Elenriel. "If we assume it was not - will she live?" she queried softly. She seemed to hardly be in a position to worry about her friend - she herself was hardly in better shape.

Turwaithiel's breathing slowed suddenly as she felt the blade in her mind and soul...then her breathe caught and she opened her eyes. She looked around worriedly, reaching for her sword but the pain in her arm caused her to flinch and pull her arm back.

"There is no guarantee, but her chances are much greater." Elenriel replied quietly to Meleth. "But there lies great strength within her. If anyone can survive her injuries it would be one such as she." Elenriel then smiled gently at Meleth. "You should rest mellon nîn, you have been through much toil these past hours." A sudden movement, drew her attention back to Turwaithiel and a smile crossed her lips as she saw that the elf maiden was now conscious. "Do not fear, my lady." she said softly. "You are amongst friends."

"I am resting..." replied Meleth to Elenriel, but trailed off. "Turwaithiel...what happened?" she asked, drawing a little closer, a worried look on her face.

Turwaithiel looked around, breathing softly now. "Did you guys finish off the wargs and orcs that attacked me after I fell?" She questioned.

Elenriel shook her head. "There were none save for the dead when we arrived. Although a flight of birds led us to you, perhaps they had something to do with it. Or the orcs and wargs went in search for other prey." she replied. "How do you feel?" she asked Turwaithiel, gazing at her with concern.

"Birds? What type of birds? I am fine...maybe after something to eat I can tell you my story." She started to try and sit up.

"A flock of phoenixes came to our aid." Elenriel replied quietly. "They struck the eyes of the beasts and with a piercing warning cry they consumed the creatures in fire." Elenriel paused for a moment then as she remembered the sight. "It was quite amazing to see. A flock of baby birds then arose from their ashes and waddled into these woods and led us to your mare, which led us to you."
