As Aradan opened his mouth to respond to that, he was interrupted as the twang of several bows sounded nearby, coupled with harsh cries.

Nodding briefly in agreement, Aradan knocked another stray arrow aside with his sword blade. He then grabbed a nearby fallen branch and lit it on fire, and used that as a weapon against the few orcs that dared come into the camp perimeter.

Despite the twang of several bowstrings and the felling of many of the orcs with crossbows, arrows still came into the campsite occasionally, several finding targets..

An roar came behind them and an warg leaped over Turwaithiel with an snap at her head, but luckliy, he missed, getting an orc arrow in his side that would have hit Turwaithiel.

Meleth had melted silently into the trees, but a cry came nonetheless from where she stood and she stumbled back into the firelight, an orc arrow protruding from her shoulder. She winced and drew her knives, eyes glinting in rage.
