Alex came back in with the birds bickering on her shoulder. She sat down and pulled a bucket out of no where. Out of the bucket she gave each of the birds a nutriberry, a chickpea, and a piece of unbuttered toast.
They all quickly shut-up holding the food in their foot, and munching happily.
Alex also had Conner in a baby sling around her shoulder..He was happily asleep.

“What about Lili? She’s nice” Kess said, not really focusing in the convocation, she was much too busy staring at clouds like usual. She was just trying to decide whether one looked more lie a swan or a snake when she heard a rustle of leaves in the distance. She looked away from the clouds, not daring to believe it’s true. But it wasn’t him, just the Doctor, happily whistling a tune. He came and sat down next to her. “Alright Kess?” she shrugged and looked away. “Yeah, I’m fine too. But I got a problem you see, theres this little girl, and she wants to see her mum again. Mind you, I’d quite like to hug my love again, I miss her you know Kessy” Kess gave him a withering look.
“What on earth are you going- Wait, you called me Kess, didn’t you? I told you my name was-“
“Rowan. Yes you did, interesting choice. But a change of name, some lost weight and a change of hair colour won’t stop me breaking a promise. Or you I hope, the “Doctor”’s quite snazzy don’t you think? And I adore the hair” he said, flicking a few brown strands out of his eyes. Now what was that promise? Forever…”
“Isn’t long enough” she finished for him. Kess shook her head. “You’re not real…” His smile just widened. “Come on Kessy, could an illusion look this good?” “Gods…” she whispered. The doctor put his finger on his lips, and swept her up into a kiss. When they broke apart they were both crying, Kess into the Doctors shoulder. “90 years you kept me waiting for!” she said, but was smiling now, and looking like she couldn’t believe it was true. “Worth it though wasn’t it?” She nodded, dumbstruck. “And there’s someone else who misses you too” A small blond girl of about 4 years old stepped tentatively from behind a willow. She saw the Doctor and Kess hugging and ran towards them. “Mummy!!!!!!”
