Caunion woke up and seeing everyone helping themselves to some coffee, he brought out a couple of tea bags and threw them into a cup of hot water. He yawned and looked around him. That night he hardly had slept but he did, due to the exhaustion from the battle. He helped himself to some bread and sipped some of his tea. He then went to his horse and after rubbing his nose, gave him an apple to eat.

Seeing that more of her companions were ready, Gwen lead Thalion over to a rock and mounted him. He danced in step as she gathered the reins. This was a good sign: he was fresh and ready to go, she thought as she stroked his neck.

Melda worked out her saddle problem and felt very pleased with herself, and then hauled herself up by clinging to the horse's mane and clawing at the saddle until she was seated. She suddenly remember that the horse didn't even have a name, and resolved to think of one sometime in the future.

Content that the camp was almost as good as they had found it, Luth caught her now rather docile horse and mounted. "Is everyone almost ready to go? I think we all want to see Rohan as soon as possible."

Larael woke, realising that she hadn't taken up the watch as she intended, and that everyone was preparing to leave. She sat up, stretched, and gathered up any of her belongings. She saddled her horse quickly and made ready to leave.

Luthien sat quietly on her horse, the rhythm of his steps lulling her tired mind to daydream. In the middle of a lovely thought, she heard the strains of a familiar tune. Looking around, she saw that it came from Gwen. She steered Panache towards her, "Isn't that the song from Sleeping Beauty? I love that movie!"

Gwen, who had been in her own little world until then, whipped her head around to face Luthien and nodded vigorously.
"You know it, too?" she grinned broadly. "I always thought Aurora [sp?] was so beautiful! And Prince...Prince Phillip so handsome! Ohh, and the faries, they were really funny!"

Melda grinned and turned halfway around on her horse (who she had dubbed Artemis) to say, "I always covered my eyes at those parts when I was little. I remember doing that during The Wizard of Oz, too."
She turned around again to keep from falling off (she had begun to slip) and looked over her shoulder to add, "I would get my brother to tell me when to open them."

"I could never trust my brother like that," Gwen grinned and shook her head at Melda. "But yeah, Maleficient is creepy. I still remember her voice, and that evil-crow-thingy."

But suddenly, a sight met the traveler's eyes.
"It's the Ford of Bruinen," said Gwen.

Darrell smiled at the famous sight before them. It was amazing to actually see it, rather than just picturing it. He rose to the front of the group and headed down the slope towards it, looking from side to side, keeping his eyes and ears open for anything strange. Somewhere like the ford would be a good place to ambush someone. Not that Darrell was feeling paranoid or anything! [:P]
