Elwen flinched at the sudden noise, though stifled the urge to close her eyes convulsively. "There's a strange sickness spreading throughout the elves here..no one knows what the cause of it is, but it has already killed two of those stricken with it."

As soon as she had explained that, she caught herself on the nearby wall, feeling very dizzy all of a sudden..though she would rapidly deny it if anyone asked.

"I could ask you the same," replied Meleth to Aradan, fiddling with a strand of her silver hair like she did when she was anxious. "Atalante's sick. I don't know what with, but I haven't seen the like - and it seems as though there are those here ill as well?"

Aradan sighed. "Yes, there are others sick..my father, my uncle, and my brother to name just a few."

Elenriel looked at Elwen in concern, the pallor in the maiden's cheeks frightened her. "Elwen, you must rest." she said softly, knowing that if she spoke more, her voice will betray the fear that swept through her. She did not want to believe it, but her instincts told her that her sister-in-law was afflicted as well. Knowing that Elwen would deny the severity of what she faced, Elenriel quickly summoned a healer and waited until a young elven maiden curtsied before her. Elenriel nodded briefly before speaking. "Tend to Lady Elwen. I will see to my husband." she said in hushed tones as she walked to the room where her husband lay.

Elenanna was silent as she mused it over in her mind. The elder living child of the Lady and Lord of Lothlorien seemed weary, and she kept her eyes downcast as she walked back to her husband's room. One of the Healers walked out and the elf sighed as he looked at her. Quickening her footsteps she came to him, and sighed softly. "How his he?" she asked, the worry evident in her metallic eyes.

The Healer looked at her, and he shook his head. "He has slipped into an unconsious state, milady. We can only hooe it doesn't become a comatose state.." Closing her eyes in despair, Elenanna turned her heac away.

"I'm sorry, Lady Elenanna." The Healer said, placing a hand on her shoulder. She sighed and shook hewr head. "I intend toi find out what is causing this...even if it means my life.." she said..

Elwen shook her head in protest, despite the pain that shot through her head. "No..I have too much to see to..I'll be fine.."

Just as Elenriel approached the room, Aranel slipped quietly out of the room, expression grim once again. Seeing Elenriel finally, she breathed out softly. "I gave him a sleeping draught..it was the only thing that was able to help him stop coughing."

Elenriel nodded slowly. "Thank you." she said softly, her sapphire eyes filled with concern. With that she walked to the bed where her husband lay resting. She gently brushed back a strand of his golden hair before sitting beside him, taking his hand in hers. Eru save you, my prince.she thought quietly as a single tear fell from her eyes and splashed on the bed. Elenriel looked away for a brief moment, filling the despair engulf her. She knew healing spells, but this was beyond her skill. She then looked back at her husband. "I will find who did this to you." she vowed softly. "Though I must move heaven itself, I will find the creature that did this."

Meleth looked distressed. "Oh no, Aradan..." she breathed, her eyes searching his face. Turning away, she clenched her fists and whirled back to face him. "They are - we are immortal! Since the beginning of time no elf has died of sickness!" Behind her eyes was fear. "This cannot be happening!"

"It is happening, though." Aradan said, trying to keep his voice calm, though that was becoming very hard, what with all the stress that was now piled on him, and that was even evident on his face. "And the worst thing is, we don't know what the cause of this is."

There was silence as Meleth's expression changed from panic to determination. "Well, there is only one course of action open to us, then, is there not?"

"Find out what the cause of this is." Aradan stated, in no uncertain tone. "And find out who is responsible."

"My thoughts exactly," was Meleth's reply. "Who else is still healthy? We will need to move now."

"None of the healers are stricken, thankfully, and Aranel and I are healthy..as is our aunt, Elenanna, and my brother's wife Elenriel..and unless she's lying, my sister has the beginning stages of whatever this is."

"Eru help them," said Meleth, pressing her lips together. "Let them know. I'll see what I can do to get us ready."

Aradan nodded in response, before walking off.
