Hey, this is the first poem I've really written ever, so it might not be that great. But there it is.

For my whole life
And I can't say why
I kept my face away from the sky
I never allowed the light on my face
And now I know that I made a mistake
'Cause now I'm looking up at the sky
And as I walk I wonder why
I stayed in the dark so long
Because now with you inside my heart
Things are all different
I've made a new start
And I know I'm safe
And I know I'm loved
And I'll always belong
With you in my heart Jesus
I feel that nothing can go wrong

that's really good - you should definitely keep writing. it'd make a nice song too, if you can write music or know anyone who can.

my best poems come like "poof" in the middle of the night when i can't sleep too, so i can identify with your method as well as the actual poem.

I have some friends in the church band at this youth group thing that I do... maybe I could talk to them. ^_^
