You know you're obsessed when you refer to your high school diploma as your "precious", you classify your classmates as elves, dwarves, and men based on how you reacted to getting your class rings, and to the one who placed their order as the Dark Lord Sauron. You refer to the Valedictorian as the King of Gondor and to the Salutarian as the Steward.

Yup, I'm totally guilty of all of this. Especially because I'm a senior at the moment and have only 259 days left till it happens.

You can't sing "This Is My Father's World" in church without thinking of the Fellowship Theme.

I know, right?

you know when ur obsessed when:
1. you refer to one of your teacher's as a minion of sauron.
2. whenever you see a landascape you can't help but think of LotR.
3. when "this is my father's world"is played in church (as quoted) you think of the LotR theme.
4. whenever someone talks about Narnia, you growl and ponder why C. S. Lewis would dare copy J.R.R. Tolkien.
5. and last but not least: when you don't watch LotR for a week, you start craving it like crazy because you haven't watched it in so long.
:explode:
hehehe :bye2:

That's crazy! But then again, I remember some people I know who thought that the release of The Two Towers film was disrespectful to 9/11. What the bleep? I seriously don't get it. I was absolutely shocked....

Goodness, you should try living in TX where everyone pronounces his name "Legless", which in my opinion, is really lame. (PArdon the pun!!!)

Agreed, FM. I always want to smack people upside the head when they don't pronounce things from LotR correctly, and Texans seem to be the worst (though we've certainly developed some...unique pronunciations here). Others I've heard a lot around here include "Gimili" and "Gladrial." :disgust:

Those are really good. The other day, I was driving home from vacation (15 hours in the van :hammer: :yuck: ) And a motercylcist (sp) came over the hill, he was wearing all black and I freaked out because I actually thought he was a ringwraith! :-o but then he came closer and he wasn't  .

Ugh, I know. People are ALWAYS saying "Eragon", and I'm like: "It's AragoRn you idiot!" :annoyed: Then there's the ever-popular "Galedriel" and "Legles/Legaless". Or even more popular, "that hot elf guy." Grrrrrr...
And, apparently, "Saruman" and "Sauron" are synonyms.
One of the ones that really bugs me is one of my Mom's creation, who could not keep Arwen and Eowyn straight: "Aerwen".
And there's Bermir and Farmir. People come up with the weioredest things.

Anyway...you know you're obsesses when you're in your school cafetweria and your friend yells, "Frodo!", and you instinctively turn around and scream, "WHERE?"
 Heh heh. Let's just say I was quiet for a long time after that happened.

You're obsessed when you look up dates in the Appendices to find out what happened on your birthday.

Guilty: Frodo gets poisoned by Shelob on my birthday! You know, the two days that Frodo is sick every year? The anniversary of Shelob's poisoning and the anniversary of the Witch-King's stabbing? Mine and my sister's birthday. I always feel so special... :) HAHAHA
