I don't believe so, Shieldmaiden. I can't remember now where I heard it, or even why Tolkien changed it. I think it was only a beginning title, when he thought that it would only be one book, and not even as long as The Hobbit (psh, yeah right). Maybe the publishing company asked him to change it, but I'm not sure. I'll try to get back to y'all on that...*goes to re-research*
