Lol! yeah, they are the only thing I read in the paper also. but the rule in our house is that before anyone gets to read the comics, (or 'funnies' as we call them) Dad get them.
Has anyone here ever noticed that in Foxtrot, Jason's sister (I don't know her name...) has a pic of Legolas on Arod in her room?

Yes! It changes from time to time though.

We only have some comic strips in the weekend edition of our regional newspaper (it’s a whole different scene from what it appears to be in the US). So most of what I like about comic strips is what I have as collector’s albums.
So right off the bat, Gary Larson’s Far Side it way up there. I have all five “regular” Far Side Gallery collector’s albums, plus the “Prehistory” one. Then of course Dilbert. Hello, I worked in a German multinational corporation that too often for comfort seemed a template for what was in the strip. What I also found eminently readable are the two books Scott Adams wrote, “The Dilbert Principle” ©1996, and “The Joy Of Work” ©1998.
As for collection, Garfield is the unchallenged leader, I have booklets that go back to the very first strip of 19 June 1978, seamlessly. But I must check with my favorite bookstore for updates, as my currently newest (German) volume is ©2015! Hägar the Horrible is both in my library with a few books, but also one of the strips in our weekend paper. As are Calvin and Hobbes, which I know solely from or newspaper.
More down memory lane are Peanuts, still the all-time comic strip champion that Garfield might one day catch up to, and Doonesbury.

I am a huge fan of the Classic Wizard of Id comics which I get downloaded from GoComics. They are much funnier than the PC version you get these days, and it's interesting to see which characters have fallen by the wayside.
