"RUN!" Karara leapt for another one of the shadowy figures and brought it down with a loud screach. "I will go with you, but you need to get out of here, NOW!"

Elly hesitated for a moment and then ducked as a screeching demon shot over her head. Grabbing Kendra's sleeve, she picked a random direction and dove through the bushes, getting slapped by twigs and leaves as she went.

Karara followed the girls, randomly screaming out directions like, 'left' 'right' 'there's a valley ahead, go through it' things like that, eventually, she stopped, and lay down.

"We should be alright here, for tonight."

Elly looked unpleasantly surprised. "You mean, like, on the ground?" she asked, hoping that that wasn't what Karara was saying, but knowing it was.

Karara looked somewhat amused.

"Well yes, unless you want to sleep on me."

Elly hastily shook her head. "Um, no, that's okay." She looked unhappily at the ground and sat between two large roots of a tree. "Boy, it's gotten cold out."

"Well, I would start a fire, but I am a lioness, not an elf, human or shapshifter. I don't have the need or the skills for fire."

"You know it would be mush easier if you just gave them to me." Kafta stepped out of the bushes with her lopsided grin. There was no point takeling shadows, not when everyone else had made such a good job of it. She bared her claws, "It would be much better in the long run."

Kendra had fallowed Elly, and when they stopped, she climbed in a tree and layed on a branch.
"I'll think I'll sleep here..." she was cut off when Kafta walked up. Kendra looked down, knowing she was out of the wolf's reach up in the tree.
"Nah, I think we won't go with you... I'd rather stay here... and alive..."

Brownfeather had flown off in the opposite direction as Kendra and Elly...

Bronzeclaw came galloping after the humans. He came up beside Kafta, then went between the wolf and the humans.
"Why would we listen to you, Kafta? We know who your aliance is with!" he growled...

Karara growled at Kafta, quietly warning her to leave. When the wolf did not seem to get the message, she spoke,

"Kafta, leave now and go back to your demented master." The wolf still stood there."NOW!" Karara put some force into her words with a loud roar as she chased Kafta off through the bushes, then returned. "Sometimes I think that that wolf has no sense in her head..."

"You could give her a chance, though," suggested Elly, ever sympathetic. "Maybe she's changed sides, you never know." She didn't seem to realize the full gravity of their situation - one wrong step could find them somewhere they wouldn't be able to escape from.

Karara thought about the idea, but quickly dismissed it.

"I will, but not now. You never know when she and Saw will show up out of nowhere..."

Kafta hid beneath a bush. She hadn't counted on the Lion. But she couldn't go back to SAW. The children now, if she could just get one on its own...

Elly yawned. "Be right back," she told Karara and Kendra. "Unless, of course, one of you wants to magically produce a port-o-potty."

Stepping carefully into the underbrush, Elly firmly fixed the location of the camp into her head and looked curiously around. She wouldn't take long, but the forest really was amazing, nothing like they had in their world. She glanced over her shoulder. It couldn't hurt to look around, could it? She fingered the leaves of a huge, gnarled tree and stepped further in, walking in interest between the trees and unconsciously getting farther and farther from camp.

Kafta saw one of the children approch her gideing place, and pulled her claws through her soft underbelly, creating a long cut, blood dribbeling from the wound, it wsn't painful, not to someone who served SAW, but it looked awful. She folled over so that it was plainly visible and began to moan softly.

Karara was determined to keep these girls safe, so she kept awake, her eyes glowing in the ever persisting darkness. But slowly her eyelids fell until she was in a deep, dreamless sleep.
