What about Interview with the vampire, lestat the vampire and the queen of dammed by Anne Rice?? they're really good.

A bit different you have the secret of Salem's Lot, by Stephen King, thats good too...

And I dunno more... I know there are a lot of this type, but I cannot remember more ()^^

Hei, and I think there are books based on films, like The forsaken and Underworld

If you like manga, I recommend you vampire hunter D. I have read some chapters and it is interesting...

And, although it is really difficult to find, there's a book based on the japanese film "The vampire hunters of Tsui hark".

I hope that helps!!

Read ANNE RICE- her vampire books are possibly the most famous in the world. She wrote THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES, 12 books which are very good. I've read them all!

I've read a couple of Anne Rice books - but you can't beat Bram Stoker's Dracula. It reads more like a thriller than a horror book, but I love it.

I prefer Anne Rice.... i try to read Dracula but never finished it...... I think Anne Rice's books are deeper... you learn plenty of things, and i love when it talks about the first vampire....

Anne Rice is definitely the best vampire books' author...

I have a friend named Steven who is in LOVE with vampire fiction. He strongly recommends the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice...i haven't read them yet but he says they're incredible. Good luck!

Anne Rice is very good and the newest author that I found that I really like is L.A. Banks

Everyone knows about Anne Rice's books but L.A. Banks' novels are real good too. The main storyline is that A mellenium vampire huntress (the Neteru), is in love with her childhood friend Carlos Rivera, who has just been turned master vamp. So they have this forbbiden love and there are many people after them.

Wikipedia describes it better than I can:

Oh, definately Anne Rice... her books are amazing. It's not just the story (Which stands alone), but her style of writing is absoloutely gorgeous.
The characters are so deep, as opposed to just... I don't know... the stereo-typical vampire. That's just boring... Anne Rice set a new level, for vampire fiction.

'In Hot blood' By Petru Popescu
its set in new orleans I found it quite interesting. But I must warn that it is based toward an adult audience, so discretion is advised.

Single White Vampire is a good one, but it's one of those naughty romance books.

Yeah, I read the first book in that series and I loved it. Definetely recommend it. The Anne Rice books are brilliant. I've also just started reading Dracula by Bram Stoker and I like it so far.

I've also read this 6 book vampire series by Christopher Pike. The series is called The Last vampire. It's about this woman who thinks she is the last vampire in the modern world. If you like vampire books, these are definetely worth a read.

I've also read this series called NightWorld by various authors and their about this secret vampire/witch/werewolf/shapechanger world. They're really good too.

How about Hellsing? If you like Manga, then it's definately worth a look... the main character is Alucard, if you can't find it under Hellsing, and the author is Kohta Hirano. ^^;;
