That's probably the very that that I would do. XP. Poor Pippin. He gets that twice, too. I also like this part in the Mines of Moria

absolutely any scene that includes merry and pippin. oe of my faves is the "shortcut"
"it was a shortcut"
"to what exactly?"
pip gasps, happy smile appears on his face
"MUSHROOMS!!!"
(why pip obsessed with mushrooms, i will never know)
and in mines of moria with gimli...
"nobody tosses a dwarf"
jumps, doesnt quite make it
Legolas grabs his beard to stop him falling backwards
"not the beard, not the beard, NOT THE BEARD!!!" (or something like that)

I like the part where just after Frodo and Sam have been watching the wood Elves, and Sam is trying to get to sleep.
Sam: Everywhere i lie there's a dirty great root sticking into my back!
Frodo: Just shut your eyes, and imagine you're back in your own bed, with a soft mattress and a lovely feather pillow
(A pause)
Sam: It's not working. I'm never going to be able to get to sleep out here.
