Gabriel smiled as one of the newcomers, Dashiell, started playing a flute along with the viola. He didn't dance much, but he did love music. He often had attempted to learn one instrument or another, but had practically no musical ability. Of course, that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy the music. He watched some of the girls dancing.

Annalett wasn't a dancer, but something inside her, when she danced now, felt hole after feeling empty. The flute that joined in made her dance more. She wasn't as good as the gypsies by a long shot, but she still danced. Her face and eyes stayed blank of all emotions, she was in something that could look like a trance. No one noticed that her feet were making a picture in the sand...

Belle, whirling bright-eyed and laughing through the dancers, caught Annalett's hands and spun with her, feet moving almost in a blur and her bright skirts blurring against the firelight. The bells at her bare ankles tinkled merrily.

She laughed, eyes dancing as much as the rest of her, and asked innocently - as was usual considering her years, for she was younger than the rest - "Do you not like to dance?"

Lisette smiled. "I love it, personally." she jumped up and started moving, spinning, swaying to the music.

(Ok..once you guys get done dancing, would anyone have any objections to skipping a bit? I kinda want to get the plot moving a little more..)

The impromptu dancing continued until late into the night, with all those involved ultimately falling asleep wherever they found an open space near the fire. No one even stayed awake to keep watch, which was odd in itself..but there were no problems throughout the night, and as dawn approached, Rene was the first to wake. As he sat up, he muttered a few choice words, realizing he had slept on top of roots all night, which made for very sore back muscles..oh, the irony. Having to perform knife throwing later in the day with an aching back. Heaven send he didn't impale the one he was to be throwing the knives at, whoever that might be..

Annalett was the next to wake. She sat up so quick her head spun a little. When the pain subsided, she looked around. For a moment, she didn't relize were she was, but when she did, she smiled. Standing up, she wiped off her dress...

There was a noise of boots in the nearby bush and Carlos emerged with a load of dead wood. He proceeded to dump this unceremoniously on the fire, which was now a bed of glowing coals, and blow on it. "Blast, it's cold," he commented grumpily, and cast a look at his coat, which he had very kindly tucked over his sister after she'd fallen asleep.

"At least it's not raining.." Rene said groggily, getting to his feet with some effort.

"Oh, don't say that..you'll jinx it." Mirielle said irritably, trying to work the tangles out of her dark hair. "Like a few days ago, for instance."

Carlos squinted up at the overcast sky. "It's already looking like rain without him jinxing it," he muttered, kneeling by the fire to blow hopefully on the dying coals.

Glancing up nonchalantly, Rene acted as if he didn't notice the imminent signs of rain, and instead began rousing the others, on the grounds of having to eat quickly, then prepare for the festival.

Belle came awake with her dark hair wildly tangled, and looked doubtfully at the sky and the dying fire. "I wish I'd stayed asleep," she muttered, giving Carlos his coat and shivering a little.
