Well... in the book it describes one of them that when you see them, theres always a trail of blood following. I would qote that part from the book, but it would take forever to find it.

I imagined Eragon with black hair, and dark eyes... like a younger Orlando Bloom!
I found it! a Shade was the one who was told to have a trail of blood following it....

really? I don't own Eragon, or I would have looked it up...
And I thought they did a great job! Though, i did hear that they offered the job to Elijah Wood and Shelio (can't spell his last name, but he played stanley in Holes) and they both turned it down!
And, they after Brom to Ian Meclellin and he turned it down because he was filming x-men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hm... I haven't seen his acting of Brom... but unless my mind is crazy, I didn't image Brom like that... I imagined him shorter, more of a bierd than that... more wrincles, and a little bit chubbier than that...
and in this picture poster of the Eragon movie... does anyone know what the rock thing is? That looks nothing like an egg!
