Timothy's forehead rised making his eyes open. He noticed his wife pacing the room like a chicken in a coop. "Wondering what to do about him?" he asked in a hoarse voice.

Edward looked at Lucy and, wheezing slightly, caught his breath. The look of comfort on his face didn’t last very long, and it died with quite the miserable, depressing twitch…when he was discouraged Edward twitched. It’s a nasty quirk Edward had.
The little girl looked like a doll right out of a pretty painting that slept at the side of the towering and frighteningly shadowy man. With his hunched shoulders and stringy hair drooping over his eyes…Ed looked like a the Grim Reaper. Pale as Dracula. Joyless as death itself—he was a terrifying spectacle.

Lucy curled up closely to him and pulled the covers near her face. "Thank you, Edw----" her voice trailed off into a soft sleep. Shutting her big brown eyes, her small arm rested on top of Edward's skinny chest that was taped together with straps of leather, buckles and other types of materials.

Katherine looked to her husband and nodded slightly. "Yeah... I have no ideas, whatsoever. Do you?" She stopped pacing and looked over to him, hopefully. She would have to stay up all night thinking about what to get, if Timothy didn't have any ideas.

Timothy sat up in bed, and adjusted the pillow under his back. "What about that?" he asked, lifting his head up to a small box hidden at the top of their closet.
(Amara, just go with it, I have something planned..)

Lucy slept soundly now with her small face buried in Edward's neck. Her small chest pushed against his shoulder as she breathed.

Katherine slowly turned around and looked into their closet, as well. She slowly walked toward it and got the small box out. "This thing?" She asked softly and went over to their bed. She sat beside Timothy and showed it to him.

Timothy took the dusty box away from her hands. "Here, you go to to sleep. I'll fix it up and put it under the tree."
He stood up from the bed slowly, yawned and walked out of the room.
(Want me to skip a scene?)

Katherine shrugged, as her husband left the room. She sighed and slowly got under the covers. She was quite aware that she would be sleeping in her clothes, but she was too tired to change out of them. She laid her head down on her soft pillow and slowly closed her eyes. Soon, she fell fast asleep.

Christmas Morning.
Timothy, Katherine and Lucy sat beside the tree. Peels of torn paper flooded the living room floor, as well as many different toys, dolls and games that had came out of the boxes.
There were so many gifts, and yet more seemed to be coming as the family continued opening.
Edward, on the other-hand layed on the couch, staring at their happy faces. What was it like to be happy again? The poor mechanical man couldn't remember. Once Kim died, she drained all happiness he had once in his weak soul.
He looked sick today, and definately not himself...

Lucy's small body was drowned in crumbled wrapping paper of various colors. "Awwwwwwwwwww!!! MOMMY! DADDY! I WANTED THIS SO BAD!" Lucy shouted at the top of her lungs. She then pulled out a small baby doll that looked almost real. It's eyes opened and shut when you picked it up or laid it down. She held it tightly to her chest and began to jump up and down, crunching the paper beneath her feet. "Who gave this to me? You both, Edward or Santa?" she asked with a happy smile.

Katherine smiled to Lucy and started picking up some of the paper that was scattered across the floor. "All of us chipped in a bit." She smirked and kissed the top of Lucy's head, lovingly. She then looked to Timothy and smiled happily to him.

Timothy rubbed Katherine's back and gave her a discrete nod and a smile. "I'm glad you like it..." he said, returning his gaze to his happy daughter.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Lucy repeated as she ran and gave her mom and dad a hug. Still clutching the baby in her arm, she dove onto the couch and landed in Edward's lap, "Thank you, Edward! How did you know what I wanted?" She smiled brightly and hugged him tightly.

Katherine rested her head on Timothy's shoulder, while watching Lucy talk to Edward with her little doll in her small arms. Katherine had a loving smile on her face as everything played around her in slow motion. It was so different with her mom not being there. She sighed and slowly looked down to the ground.

Timothy sat up and pulled Lucy off of Edward's weak frame. "Come here you lil' monkey!"
He smiled at her and placed her down on the carpet, "Give Ed a rest.."
