Great. I'm probably going to get off just before SG comes online and makes the starting post. Just my luck to be online when nobody else is. Grrr...

Ok, first, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Sorry everyone!!! I got lots of new 3-D Mystery games for Christmas, and they're really fun and suspencful.... so... I totally forgot!! ((*GASP!!*)) Anyway, off we go!
-------------------------------------------------------------

Naru jogged through the halls of the jedi temple. She had just left from the records room, after gathering some information she needed for an essay she had due. While there, she couldn't help but over hear Ziatan and his former master, Garat'ur, speaking. She heard many things, many things that were frightening, and many things that could put her, her master, the council, and all of Caruscant at risk.

She ran through the pathways, gathering many strange stares as she went. She then ran into her and her master's quarters and locked the door behind her, afraid that Ziatan would be on her heels, with a saber in hand.

After calming down a bit, she slid down on to a couch, and calmed her breathing. Then, through the force, she called her master,

"Master! Master Tynira!! Please come quickly..." she then waited for her master, and sat on the couch.

Jedi Master Tynira Mek sat in meditation, letting her mind drift gently, floating like a leaf on the updrafts of thought. Her padawan's call, scarred with barely controlled terror, brought her down with a decided thud.

Tynira's body stiffened - was Naru in danger? Reaching out with the Force, she ascertained the girl's location - her quarters - and that she was in no immediate danger.

That being the case, the Jedi Master took a minute to bring her meditation to a more satisfying close, then unhurriedly made her way toward her quarters in the Temple. The door was locked. Odd. It opened at her voice command.

She entered the main room, serenely folding her hands in the wide sleeves of her robe, and stood looking down at her padawan. "A locked door indicates fear, little sister," she said, using the form of address which indicated the relationship of all Jedi to each other. "There is no fear where there is Light." There was mild reproof in her voice.

Naru looked down, she was slightly ashamed now, now that her master had to see her like this... Though she did want to tell her... She slowly stood to her feet, not making eye contanct with Tynira,

"I'm sorry master. But master, th-there is something that you need to know...."

Rats. I just realized that my character still doesn't have a Master. *thinks*...would it be fine if I had it so his Master had died recently?

"Come, then." The petite, blonde woman knelt easily on the wooden floor, gathering her robes about her in a motion which caused the numerous candleflames about the room to dance briefly. She nodded for her padawan to join her. "Tell me of this - " she raised a finger "- but without fear."

((^^Sure, Aerandir! Thats fine. So sorry about that... I am a bit preoccupied...))

Naru nodded, ragaining the dignity that she had left, and knealt beside her master.

"Well.... I went to go and gather that information that was required for that essay on Caruscant history, and.. I ... overheard Ziatan talking with master Darat'ur..." She paused to see her master's expression, "I really couldn't help it, I walked in when they were talking - loudly - and I didn't think I was really intruding, but while I was retreaving the data pad, I heard some disturbing things...." She then told her master that she had over heard Ziatan and his former master talking about shutting down the transports in and out of Caruscant.

Okay, thanks, SG.

Just a note, it's spelled Coruscant, not Caruscant.

----

K'yahn sat by the side of the Temple's lake with his eyes closed, remembering. In front of him floated a number of pebbles, bobbing and dipping as his concentration shifted between them. Among them was a band of water, spinning and twisting in an intricate dance, never touching any of the stones, but constantly flowing in the space it was confined to.

The blast doors closed behind them, and K'yahn and Master Johle strode forward with lightsabers ignited, confident in their ability.

The space the water flowed in constricted, forcing it faster in its circuitous route.

The pirates lifted their blasters, their faces full of fear, but stubborness, as well. K'yahn felt a moment of doubt when he realized that Master Johle was going to try and talk them down, but shoved it aside. Stopping the pirates quickly was important, one way or another. At the course the ship was currently set on, the ship would collide with the surface of Ankol's moon within fifteen minutes.

K'yahn only paid partial attention to what his Master said, watching the pirates very carefully in case any of them made a move to attack.

The water flowed faster still, and as it's course became narrower, a bit of it branched off, forming a separate, constantly shifting arc.

The pirates were backing down. One by one, they laid their weapons on the ground, taking a step back from them once they had done so. K'yahn breathed a sigh of relief. Then it happened. A scarlet burst of energy came from behind the two Jedi and hit Master Johle in the back. K'yahn reacted instantly, diving sideways in a roll that put his back to a wall and allowed him to face both groups of enemies, but his brain had become crowded with astonishment and worry. Astonishment that neither he nor Master Johle had felt the attack before it happened, and worry that the wound might prove fatal. The Jedi Master certainly wasn't moving from where he lay on the ground.

The water, in several different streams by now, flowed furiously in spirals and arcs, twisting shape, joining with other streams, separating into others, and intertwining among the pebbles.

As the blaster bolts came towards him, K'yahn deflected them with his lightsaber, working furiously to keep the hail of destructive energy from reaching him. While ending the fight meant he would survive, he had other reasons, too--this was a passenger liner, and if he didn't end the fight soon, they would have no chance to avoid crashing in time. Sparing what concentration he could, he twisted one of the blasters in its owner's grip just as the pirate pulled the trigger. This time, instead of coming towards him, the laser streaked towards another one of the pirates. Not expecting an attack from that side, the pirate caught the bolt in his side and keeled over, crashing to the floor with a groan. Simultaneously, bolts began seeking out the other pirates. As the rain of laser blasts in his direction slowed, K'yahn realised that some of the passengers had acted under their own initiative to help. Very timely. The pirate who had crept up on them caught a bolt in an odd frame he wore on his back, on which an almost serpentlike creature had attached itself. The frame exploded, obviously filled with some fluid, and that was the end of the pirate, and whatever creature that had been.

The water spun crazily among the pebbles, and K'yahn opened his eyes, a pained smile creasing his face. The memory had indeed provided the needed addition to his control, as he had slipped into the careful, analytical mindset he naturally assumed when in combat, though it had taken a while in coming during that fight. He had never had control so delicate before, though.

He caught a glimmer of fear from further in the Temple, and lost what little control he had over his project. The pebbles and water dropped to the ground, and K'yahn sighed. He didn't want to try to do it again; besides, he recognized the source of that fear--it was Naru, a fellow Padawan he had become friends with recently. Clambering to his feet, he headed to the corridors.

Ziatan folded his arms and leaned up against one of the many pillars in the Temple's archive room as he waited for Garat'ur to finish speaking. He was tolerating the older Jedi -barely- for the time being, though his patience was beginning to wear thin. They'd been over this a thousand times. He knew the plan. He'd help form the plan. He intended to carry out the plan...alone. Soon, now, the Council would grant him permission to take on a Padawan of his own- one that could be retrained and molded into a powerful ally. At that time, the necessity of his former master would rapidly diminish until at last he could be done away with. For now, however, he needed to maintain the Jedi's trust.

"I know of this already, Garat'ur," he finally interrupted impatiently. "We waste time by simply going over the existing plan, rather than giving thought to our next step. We can do nothing until the transports are fully-" Ziatan paused as a surge in the Force caught his attention. Curiosity. Alarm. Fear. Someone had heard them. "Do excuse me, Master," he muttered, abruptly turning and striding off in the direction from which the disturbance had come. He quickly moved through the corridors of the Temple, tracking the signature he had felt moments prior. Finally he came to the quarters of Naru Kara, a Padawan only a few years younger than he.

He knocked on the door and waited for an answer, then finally just waved a hand to open the door with the Force. As he strode in, his eyes fell on Naru and her Master. "Ah. Master Mek. Naru," he said, smiling courteously and bowing in greeting. "I hope you'll forgive my intrusion. I noticed that, in her rush to leave, Naru left this datapad behind, and I thought she might like it back." He reached into the folds of his cloak and produced the datapad in question, then set it down on a table. Bowing once more, he turned to leave. "I apologize again for interrupting. Good day."

"Thank you, Zaitan," Tynira replied gravely. It would be wrong to immediately assume that he is planning harm, she sent to Naru, through the Force. It may be a necessary part of a mission. Naru had a point though - it felt wrong. On impulse she added, "I am glad you came, younger brother, for I find that I need your expertise. If one were to go to the Kuat shipyards later this month, which transport would be the best to take?"

Naru took the data pad slowly, looked at it, wondering just which of the many ones she had left behind. Seeing that it was indeed one that she had picked up, she set it in her lap. I don't know, master... I don't like the way he gained his title... It seems as if the council broke a delicate custom for no reason at all. Uncerimoniously. She replied to her master. With that said privetly through the force, she rose to her feet.

"If you will excuse me, I need to get to my homework." With a quick, short bow, she then left to her private quarters. Going into her small desk, she set down the datapad and sat down. Wishing desparately she could just go out to train - one of the things that could calm her down - she stared blankly out of the window on the far side of the room.

Ziatan raised a questioning eyebrow and contemplated for a moment. "Well..." he began, reaching out delicately with the Force to sense the Jedi Master's intent behind the question. "I don't frequent Kuat, to be perfectly honest, but I suppose the most logical course of action would be to ask the Council to arrange something, as they usually do. Unless, of course, you were looking for something a bit more...off-the-books, in which case you might want to visit The Works and find an outbound ship that intends to travel along the Perlemian Trade Route and might be inclined to drop you off for a few credits. Does that help you?"

The Jedi Master inclined her head slightly. "Your advice is valuable. My thanks." There had indeed been something slightly odd in the manner of his reply - but it was far from conclusive. This matter needed further contemplation.
