As Alendariel rode into Rivendell, she was relieved to find the elven army prepared for battle, and waiting.
"What news, Lady Alendariel?" inquired the captain of the elves.
"They ride this way. Have your men prepared."
"How many are they?" he inquired.
"One hundred at the least." she said gravely. "They shall prove a worthy opponent." she glanced the elven army over. "How many are you?"
"Merely four hundred."
"Formidable enough. I shall take a party of healers and set to work healing the wounded of Eruraina's party." she informed him, before riding off to find Lord Elrond. She found him in his study.
"My lord." she said, bowing quickly. "Creatures of the clouds descend upon Imladris."
Elrond lifted his gaze to the sky. The colour drained from his face. "Is the army prepared?"
"Mae." she said.
"Good. And my daughters...where are they?" Lord Elrond inquired.
"I...I am unsure."
"Ensure they are not in harm's way."
"I shall, my lord." she said, turning to leave.
