Kith nodded a small greeting, but grunted in disdain. He stood up and began to trot away from the prison.

"Where are you going?" Elendi yelled.

Braad stood as the two left the prison through the hole. He tried to watch and see what they were doing, but he couldn't see from the angle he was at.

"But you cna't just leave them! They are your friends!" Elendi protested.

How long have I known them?" Kith snarled. "Not long. Not even a day. They are not my friends." He turned, glaring at the ground as he trotted off, but as he stared to halted. He glanced at his bare wrists. Around each was a thick, worn scar. A scar he had accuired from his days, his years in captivity. Those scars would never go away, they would never completely heal. He remembered the two decades he was in slavery and realized it was not much different from inprisonment. No doubt by the end of thier term, or death, they would have the same scars he did. Kith spun on his heel quickly. He had made up his mind. He raced toward the prison, not waiting for Elendi to catch up. His blood was on fire with rage, and he half hoped he would be able to take it out on a gaurd.

Elendi did not answer him but scowled and muttered, "And I have only known them for 10 mintues and I risk my life for them..." She contiuned to run away as another thought came to mind, As I would do for you. She stopped and wondered why that came to her, but then remembered that the gaurds would notice her absence soon and she ran into a small wooden blacksmiths shop. She looked inside from the window, peeking in and making sure she was not caught.

Empty.

Some luck after all. She thought and slunk inside. She grabbed as many weapons as she could carry and a rope, and left all the coins she had on the table. She knew it wasn't going to be able to cover the entire cost, but she would make it up to them somehow.

With a bag of tools over her shoudler, she planned her break-in and escape in her head as she ran in the shadows, but one lingering thought kept breaking into her mind, no matter how much she tried to make it go away. If only Kith was here to help me.

Kith had made a brief stop at the armory to collect the knives that had been taken from him for the second time. He glanced around, looking for somthing that would suit as picks. He found them in a the form of a woman's hair ornaments. They were long, thin and metal. No doubt the gaurds confeiscated them because they could be used as both a wepon and escape method. He headed toward the cells at a quick trot, muttering to himself. In a few moments he had come to Braad's cell. "Hold on. I'll get you out in a moment" He thrust his makeshift picks into the lock. The lock was well made and old. The catches were rusty and hard to move, but in a few minutes he had the lock undone. Trusting Braad knew how to open the door, he moved onto the next cell. He heard the patter of soft footsteps and was surprised to find himself hoping they were Elendi's; not a hope that it was Elendi instead of a gaurd, but a hope that Elendi had come and he would have a companion.

It was Elendi. She was surprised to see Kith as she stopped abrutly and smiled at him. "Well, well, it's good to see you here." She walked over to him and asked, "Is there anyway I can help?"

"I've almost got it" He said in a low voice. He wormed the picks into the lock,, attempting to get all the tumblers in place. "Amazing what one learns on the street." He said softly. WIth a sudden click the lock opened.

Elendi knew well what he spoke of and smiled. "Aye. I'll go stand gaurd until we are all ready to go."

Braad quickly stood when Kith came back into the jail. When his door swung open, he gratefully moved out into the hallway. "Thanks." he said in a low voice. "You don't know how much I appreciate it!"

Suddenly, drums could be heard, along with a horn blowing. Then, loud noises of clanking armor came from below. Elendi ran over and said, "We have to leave...now!"

Braad grabbed one of the ornaments from Kith and went to Meleth's cell, quickly opening the lock with the piece of metal. The door swung open, and Braad stepped back. "I'm ready to go." he said.

"I'll go and distract them. I'll meet you outside. GO!" Elendi, unsheathing one of her swords, ran down the steps to spy on the gaurds.
