Hey up all, EBM here. I am starting this topic off for an unusual purpose. A friend may be starting a party planning business ( this isnt advertising btw) and may do LOTR themed parties. All I would like to know is what YOU would like to see at a LOTR themed party, purely as market research. Any idea is welcome and again, My intention is only to obtain the best possible information and I believe I am not abusing my membership as such.
Thanks
EBM 8)

Thats really cool! I wish I could have a LOTR themed party :P I think having like the theme of the different types of places of Middle-Earth would be cool. Such as Rivendell, Lothlorie, Hobbiton, Rohan or Gondor. Depending on the person. Or maybe their favorite character? I dunno but thats really cool!

It'd probably be a good idea to have copies of the movies, extended and non, in case people don't have them and want to watch them.
Let's see...themed foods would be cool-there are a bunch of recipies on councilofelrond.com
Some crafts or activities would be cool. Maybe you could even have costumes that you could bring over for ppl to wear during the party.
Um, that's all the ideas I can think of right now.

That's a reall neat idea! I agree with Elenya and hobbit_fan. Depending on where and who it's for, I think if they did a LOTR themed party, it should maybe mirror a certain place in Middle Earth. Like Lothlorien or Rivendell...could be near the woods and such. Hobbiton/Shire could be around farm land/country. You know? Or not. Because I'm not in the party buisness...I have no idea. Ha ha ha. :P

I had one a long time ago...uh, it was Hobbit themed. I remember it to be really fun though. Ha ha!

on such a theme party the food should fit to the theme also. If it's Lothlorien or Rivendell, maybe there should be lembas, and if it's the Shire there have to be MUSHROOMS.
the room should also be decoratet. When it's the shire you could decorate it like The Green Dragon.
nd you should play music, but I'm not sure what music, sorry

Elenya :)

yeah, for example a quotes-game, but then all the guests must be fans, otherwise it wouldn't make sense...

I think what might make such a GREAT idea less great, is that almost no one has friends that are all Ringers. And if you're not a Ringer, I'm not sure a LotR party will be as fun. Personally, I've always wanted to have a LotR party, but I've never been able to, cause I'm the only Ringer I know in rl and my friends would probably just think it was completely lame...
I'm not saying it's a great idea, cause it really is, but ie. the gaming part might prove hard, cause non-Ringers wouldn't be able to participate, and you couldn't very well NOT invite them, right? :D
Yeah, well, so that's my... opinion... or whatever one should call it...

yeah that's why I said the gaming part would only be possible when everyone had seen the movie before...

This is just an ideas page and all input is good. Dont think too much tho if that makes sense like. If u have an idea throw it into the circle and if u have tho of something that might make it abit hard to do then thats gr8. lIke this quality person here. Thanx :)
