I would make a storyline post, but SG said Naru was going to be the one relaying the news, so I was kind of waiting for her to post. If she doesn't by the end of the day, I'll just post.

Jasson came to slowly, hesitating to open his eyes. He was somewhere comfortable - which was good. If he opened his eyes, he might have to deal with Reality, and that might not be so comfortable.

There were soft noises, and gentle drafts of sterile air ... curiosity got the better of him, and he opened his eyes.

It was a hospital or healing ward of some kind. That landing must have roughed him up a bit. His fighter - sithspit, that had been a good craft. He hoped the damage wasn't too bad.

The pilot looked around. The ceilings were high and airy, but solemn. There were plenty of other beds, but only a few were occupied. He ran an eye over what he could see of himself. Not too much visible damage, which was good, but neither did he feel like moving much. He wondered where the doctors were - ah, there was a person. Not a doctor, though, but a Jedi. Interesting.

K'yahn smiled as he saw the pilot stirring. The man had taken some internal injuries in his landing, to the point that Master Doral, who had been the first person to reach the landing--rather, crash--site, had brought him back to the Temple for some more advanced healing.

As the pilot--Jasson Xereb--noticed him, K'yahn walked forward.

"You'll be feeling a little sore at first," the Padawan said, "but you're just about fine. A few more days of rest, and you'll be back on duty; though, I'm not sure if that last bit is good or bad news."

((OMG! I AM SOOO SORRY! Oi... I can't tell you how bad I feel.... I honestly couldn't find this thread... :( I am so sorry... Anyway, off we go...))

Garat'ur stood completely still, save one eyebrow which shot up at his former padawan.

"Oh, and what would that be, Ziatan? I am curious, as to why you have been blocking your prensence lately."

Ziatan shrugged dismissively. "It was necessary. As is this." In one swift, fluid motion, he drew and ignited his lightsaber, plunging the blade into his former master's chest and catching the older man before he could fall. "I must regrettably inform you, my Master," he whispered into the Jedi's ear, "that I am no longer in need of your services." Setting Garat'ur gently down into a chair, Ziatan quickly disappeared once again.

Jasson lifted his head slightly, then decided it was too much work and let it fall back on the pillow. "Where am I?" Undertones of suspicion crept into his voice. "More to the point, what's the status of my fighter, and what in Alderaan's name do you mean by good news or bad news? And who are you?" He realized that he sounded slightly irritated, but then one usually was when one had been knocked completely out of the loop. Usually, he was the one that had it all together.

Naru brought down her saber, retracting the blue laser that formed the blade. Something was definately not right here. Already she had felt a wave through the force, telling her something - though she had yet to decipher its meaning - was wrong. But now, now she felt the piercing, unmistakable disturbance of death. Someone, a jedi, had died.

Running through the halls, headed for her quarters, her mind raced. What in all the galaxy was going on? As far as she knew, there were no major assignments, missions, or battles going on. She could not think of a logical explaination as she reached the door to the small dwelling that belonged to her and her master. Looking around, she knew that Master Mek should have been here, meditating.

"Master?" She asked, quietly, so as not to disturb the jedi. No answer. Not a sound. She scanned each room of the house, and found nothing. Trying desparately not to panic, as he master had taught her to for so many years, Naru sat down and tried to reach her through the force.

"Master? Master, where are you?" She asked, then thought privately to herself, And why arn't you here meditating? She waited for what seemed like an eternity, with no answer. Now truly worried, she rose from her seat and headed out the door. She needed to find someone. Looking around for one of the many, many masters that she knew, she saw many of them, though they were very busy. Some even looked mad - or mabye it was just her imagination. Not minding her directions, she nearly ran into the being that was turning the corner in the opposite direction as she. ((*cough* Opening for anyone really.. Not Ziatan though. :P Kinda bad setup, but anyway...))

K'yahn shook his head, smiling slightly. The pilot's irritation was evident through the Force.

"You probably would like to get caught up to date, huh?" he asked. Not waiting on an answer, he continued. "To answer your last question first, I am Jedi Padawan K'yahn Tol'dar, and as you might have guessed, you are in the Jedi Temple; since you chose to crash so close to it, and due to some internal injuries, we thought it best to bring you here. As for your vehicle, I'm afraid I wasn't informed about its condition."

That was quite true--he was a healer, and nobody had thought the status of a crashed starfighter would make a difference in the healing of a pilot.

"What I meant about the good or bad news is simply that I don't know whether you want to go back to work in a few days--some people do, and some people do--"

He broke his sentence off as he felt a tremor in the Force, one which he hadn't felt since his Master's death. A Force-user had died nearby. He felt the blood leave his face, and his knees grow weak. Sitting down hastily on the nearest bed, he put his head in his hands. Someone was dead--almost certainly a Jedi, and it hadn't been an accident. Just before it, he had felt a flare of malice through the Force, faint enough that most Jedi wouldn't sense it, only the Healers and a few others with remarkable empathy.

There was a murderer in the Jedi Temple.

"What was that all about?" Regarn asked, following his Padawan away from the empty training room.

Valinn shook his head helplessly. "I don't know, Master," he replied, slowing his pace to match the older Jedi's. "I felt something, but then it was suddenly...gone. It was probably noth-" He was suddenly cut off as he turned the corner and was forced to dodge at the last second to avoid coliding with another being. Looking down, he recognized the being in question as Naru Kara, one of his clan-mates from when he was younger. "Easy, Naru," he said, catching her arm and forcing her to stop. "What's wrong?"

"And where's Tynira?" Regarn asked with a concerned frown.

Ziatan finally made it back to his ship and secured himself in the cockpit. Swiftly punching in the coordinates and sending some last-minute instructions from his datapad, he guided the ship out of the hangar and into space. As soon as they were securely in hyperspace, he hit the autopilot button and headed back to check on his guest.

Tynira Mek still lay unconscious on the table where he'd left her. Despite the energy cuffs binding the Jedi's hands and feet, Ziatan was not going to take any chances. Quickly filling a syringe with a serum that would both block Master Mek's access to the Force and mask her Force presence, he injected it into her system and discarded of the needle. Now, even when she woke up, she was of absolutely no threat to him.

Jasson blinked in surprise as the padawan reacted in shock to ... something. "Hey, hey," he said, suddenly concerned, "I'm supposed to be the one that's damaged here. Something wrong? Can you walk it off?"

----------------

Darkness, and darkness, and darkness ... then something sinister, evil, blacker than black, which washed over her mind, tossing her like a pebble in a wave of polluted scum. Then a void, which stayed a void for an eternal nanosecond before filling with an echoing, voiceless cry from a million throats.

death

death

death

Tynira Mek's petite body spasmed involuntarily on the table, then lay still.

There were no distractions, no physical stimulations to distort this meditation. It was deeper than she'd ever gone before, and she felt the Living Force ensconce her mind like a thousand sensory feeds, each demanding attention. She gently filtered through them, wanting any message but the one they each told her, albeit in different manners: There had been a bright, shining star in the galaxy of Force-users, the center of a system - and it had been snuffed out.

Then the world plunged into despair, and the Force itself was extinguished.

Tynira Mek gasped in anguish, and found that she was breathing air. Her first instinct was to sit up - which was quickly curtailed by a jolt of pain from the cuffs on her wrists. She fell back, breathing heavily.

Naru calmed quickly, and sighed, trying to think. That small task had been seemingly impossible in the past few minutes. First her master dissapeared, now an unknown jedi was dead, and here she was, losing nerve.

"I-I don't know. I don't know anything. I was sparring with the other padawans, and felt that something was wrong, so, I went to go and find Master Mek, hoping that she could answer the question of what it was. But when I got there, she wasn't there, and I couldn't contact her through the force. Then, I felt that-" She quickly stopped mid-sentence and took in a sharp breath. Something was gone. Someone was gone...

She couldn't sense her Master anymore.
