Well, that's good that there's a polititian in the States is giving hope to women everywhere... I'm sorry to say that I don't really know who she is, or even what the speaker of the house is... I don't really pay attention to politics, especially those in other countries.
But she must be a brilliant person. She sounds like a true inspiration.
EDIT: ah, NOW I remember. That was on the news a few days ago. That's great, she could potentially become the first female president! It tells you a lot about the way society is improving, and how much people have changed their perspectives of women.

I believe you're talking about Hilary Clinton, who is married to Bill Clinton, a former president, who's best known for cheating on his wife with his secretary... yeah.

Okay, before this goes any further into a political debate, let's switch subjects. And on a Political Science note, Nancy Pelosi is 3rd in line for the Presidency if anything were to happen to Bush or Cheney.
Alright, let's discuss the role of mother's in the home. Do you want to be a "stay at home" mother? Or would you like to break convention and have a full time job?

I would like to stay at home with my kids, personally. At least until the youngest one started school. I really don't want to miss those precious years when they're little.

I definately want to be a stay-at-home mom, but if I become a lawer (wich I want to do) I'd like to work Saturdays or something. Also, I'd want a degree before I got married.

I was just thinking about such a topic, you're reading my mind Sida xD
When I grow up, I'll be independnet. I've depended on people for my whole life, it's my lifestyle, and I want to change it. Get a job, nice man, family, home, normal life ... And maybe kids. If I ever happen to have them, I'll stay at home for the first year of their lives [in Slovenia you can stay at home for 12 months since the childbirth. We pwn, face it.] and then ... either put them into a kindergarten/nursery or let my mom watch them during the day. Depends..
My dream job is anythign relating to languages, be it a translator in European parliament or a tourist guide in some random, godsforsaken town.

Well, I just always want to be me...and I would very much like to be a mother and have children, and I'd want to do the most for them that I could. But I'd also like to keep writing or whatever it is I end up doing when i grow up. I'd never want a basic office job deal most people have - whatever the work is I do, I want to keep doing it with my kids.

Oh that sounds cool Antigoue. Hum...about me. Im not sure about Marriage. Id never marry for money or the sake that I wan't a family. Yea I wouldn't mind that, but if I marry he has to be special. Someone who I know that im hopelessly in love with and he feels the same way. A good man, with great morals but doesn't mind being a goof like I am. For a Job, my dream is to be a great writer, get all 3 of my books published. And also, id like to be a Linguistic. While also learning about many ways of different cultures, escpecially old european ones. My other dream is to travel all over europe for about a year. And staying a year in a Eurpeon town that has a linguistic college. Another thing I really really want to do is act in at least one historical movie--such as the masterpiece theater ones.

^You put it perfectly. I would only marry someone if I was hopelessly in love with them, and vice versa.

I would have a full time job. Kinda like my mom has had. I think by the time I have kids I'll be doing my residency for being a doctor, and it's too much work wasted to just sit down and become a "home mommy" as my little cousin puts it. I have my own dreams and aspirations, and kids are a part of the dream. But, I turned out ok (I think) with my mom working all the time. and I've dreamed forever of becoming a doctor. I couldn't just throw that aside just because I have kids.
In my culture, we have to get married. I will get married, I just hope that I get the ideal thing as Eldarwen and Riniel put it. I may have to settle for a really good friend or something though.

I'm Indian. North Indian to be exact. They're called Punjabi since they're from the Indian state of Punjab. If I don't find someone to marry, someone else will find someone for me. so, the pressure's on.

^Oh! I hope you find the right person! I would much rather chose my own spouse.
Anyway, I don't see a problem with moms working. My mom has to work because we need the money. I'm 13 and I'm okay so far. My dad disagrees and doesn't think women should have careers because he thinks that women should stay home and be mothers, as it was traditionally. But traditions can't always surrvive. I think he needs to realize that ^_^
