I totally agree. There's nothing wrong with stay at home moms but I disagree with those who say that it's wrong for women to work.

Yes. I disagree with that entirely. Like in Les Miserables, this lady fell in love with a man and had a child with him if I remember right he disapeered or something leaving her with her daughter Cossette. She had to support her by sending money to the people who took care of the girl for her. She worked in a factory, the factory found out she had a child then fired her, she couldn't find any work but to be a hore. What if they didnt have much options for women to work nowadays? that would happen more often...she just needed to survive.

Yes, that's really sad. And that would be a problem, a big problem if things were today as they were during the setting of that story.

I can't wait till I become a doctor. I also can't wait till I have kids. well, I can wait. But, I would hate it if I was at home all day taking care of the kids. I need stimulation, I need diverse people to talk to, bounce philosophy off of, have fun. my mom kinda sets the example for me. she worked even when i was like under 1 year old. She learned how to balance me and work though.

^^Yes. It would be a really dark world if that was the only imployment available to women.
^That's good. A balance of work and home life is really hard to do but it's really good once you do learn how to do it.

I want to be a working mom when i am a mother. I will take a few years off probably to take care of my kids but nothing more. My mom works and my sisters and I have turned out fine! I dont want to be confined to a house, i want to be able to succeed in the world and do what i love, either teach high school, write, or work in the fashion industry. I see no problem with working moms, they are supporting their family, in my opinion, as they should be.

Exactly. I don't see why the men should be able to see all these things every day and women have to stay at home.

I'm definately going to work when I'm a mother but not for the first several years. I don't want to be chained to my home. My preference would be to work during the morning and part of the afternoon while the kids are at school. Then come home to take care of them. I hope that my plan will work out that way.

I plan on being a writer, so I could work and stay home at the same time.

Well, I think I'll also be some kind of working mother when I will have children one day.
My mom was at home all day and cared for me until I was thirteen or so and I have to admit that it was really nice, but to be honest I can't really imagine such a life for me.
I mean when I've finished school, I wish to study at a university and I think it would be a pity to have worked so hard for so many years and then just stay at home forever, because there's a great risk that if you're out of work for too long, that you won't get back into your former job.
So I would definitely try to manage career and family at the same time. And I think today you already have so many positive examples of women, who sometimes even have top jobs and can manage their family life at the same time.

Anyone here of Queen Boudica? Or Queen Elizebeth the first. They are some of the most coolest characters in history - (in my op.) they didnt let the fact that they were woman stand in the way of ruling greatly.
