She's a very important part of England [and the world's history], I wouldn't be surprised if everyone here has read a book about her sometime in their life. She was amazing...
Slightly off topic- Has anyone seen the short tv movie, Queen Elizabeth I? I've heard it was wonderfully done. Won some awards in the US, it did.

Well, I've never heard something of Queen Boadicea before, but thanks to Sida's intresting introduction, I'm quite fascinated by her. I think I'll do some further research about her.
Concerning Queen Elizabeth I: I think she was an extraordinary and fascinating person- probably one of the strongest female character's of her time. I've written my History term paper about her and I must admit that this woman fascinated me more and more while working on it. She had so much courage and strength to fight all the men who were against her.
Well, concerning the TV series about Elizabeth I, I can only say that I haven't watched it, as it hasn't been relesed yet where I live. However, when it'll be shown, I'll definitely try to see it, because I think that it must be really interesting. The only movie I've seen about this queen was „Elizabeth“ with Cate Blanchett. I liked that movie very much and I think Cate did a great job.
@lady_Earwen: The tv movie is about Queen ELizabeth I of England.

That's cool! One of my role models in women is St. Agnes, who was a 12-year-old girl from ancient Rome who was killed because she was a Christian. Her torterers (sp?) also wanted to violate her purity, but she remained virgin. She's really an amazing girl.

Lol, I'm sure there are movies about virtually every female and male heroine. Joan of Arc, Elizabeth I, Marie Antoinette, you name it...

Wow.. it's amazing what people will do for the things they believe in. And she was only 12 years old too. She must of thought quite decidedly for someone her age.
Ya know, I don't understand how men used to think women were so weak, if we could do things like what Snowbird mentioned above. Is our passion that makes us resist like that? I dunno, but it gives me a feeling of satisfaction and wee bit of power too.

That's so awesome! It's like ancient Girl Power!
She continued to rid them from their shores, however, eventually, all good must end, right? In a battle later on, when the Romans had the upperhand, instead of risking being captured and taken alive, she drank poison.
She's such a cool person, now my account was very brief, and I urge everyone else to do further research, because she's such a cool person.
Ahhh now I remember her! My dad and I watched an amazing documentary on her. It was quite tragic how the Roman's defeated her army. They were wayyy outnumbered by Boadicea's army but the Roman's had suppuior military strategy and they formed tight lines that Boadicea's army couldn't break and people in the front began to get crushed and the ones in the back who tried to run away were blocked by the carts their families had set up to watch the battle because they all thought it was a sure win. _________________ "There's an ocean between.....where I am and where I want to be"

I think it's Arc but one can never be too sure.
I'm not a big fan of Joan's... there's something about her that irritates me yet I can't figure out what excactly. Ha,. lovely mind me has.
