Annalett crossed her arms, thinking a moment.
"five silver, and if you want, I have an extra room above my shop with a balcony door big enouph for your eagle," she replyed...

Aeryn took out a couple coins and handed them to her. "I am grateful, but I do not want to be a burden to you."

Annalett took the coins, and put them in her pocket.
"It would be no burden, that room would just sit there and get dusty anyway..."

"I could help you, then...with your swords and such...in payment for my housing." Aeryn said.

Annalett rubbed her chin, and looked him up and down.
"I suppose you'd do well in the forge. I could use the extra hand. hm... would you be willing to become an apprentace? I've been searching for one for some time now." Annalett said, eyes looking at his eagle now...

Everya left Eligh's house after a while and called for Remnee. The eagle swooped down.
"Take me to the black smith, I need to put in an order for a new sword." Everya said, settling herself on the eagle's feathered back. The eagle took off, spreading out her wings. A surge of wind caught Everya in the face as the eagle flew toward the blacksmiths shop. Once they landed, Everya slid to the ground and walked into the shop.
"Hello?" She asked, not seeing Annalett.

Eligh gasped. Not more cuts... he thought, looking at his hands. Sure enough, a small, thin line of blood was already spread across his bare hand. Unfortunatly, his sister's supervisor, Gilion, 'barrowed' his gloves and never gave them back. And so, he spent his time tending to the wounds that the hard shells encasing the cotton gave him. He was working near the very edge of the canyon, but that didn't bother him, as Norakai was near, and he had done so all his life. Looking around once he finished the ready section of cotton, he looked down the canyon.
"What on earth..." He looked down the edge, and he was able to see several black spots. They were moving. "Oh dear heveans...." This couldn't be good. There were never poeple besides the Yanua here. And Eligh knew that all to well from the local, Zhicoal. Running back towards Norakai, he screamed,
"Norakai! Norakai, we have to get back to the village! Something, someone is in the canyon!" Emedietly, Norakai's golden head shot up, and soundlessly, he let Eligh mount him, then flew away towards the village.

In the eerily hazy light filtering in from a skylight in the cavern ceiling, the half dozen creatures resembled diseased hominids that never bothered to reach adulthood. A second, more observant look dictated something quite interesting. For, sprouting like tattered membrane from each sickly creature's back, were a pair of wings. Not only that, but protruding from their faces were wickedly curved beaks that bore uncanny resemblance to...
Eagles, like twisted insults to the Hanari. Tlenes's sardonic chuckle relayed across the telepathic link. You'd kill if you could see them.
He could vividly picture Evandyr haughtily preening his features - a customary gesture whenever the great eagle was agitated. Fortunately for them, I can't see them. Don't talk to me now. Wolf pack closing in.
Tlenes likewise terminated the mental link. Raising his weapon, he advanced on his six naively unaware prey.
His first incursion was ruthless and lightning-quick. He leaped in among them, scimitar cutting a wide slash of destruction. With a flurry of wings and spinechilling shrieks, the mutated hominids scattered. A credit to their unexpected intelligence, it took them less than a second to regroup. Crimson eyes glittering maliciously in the dim light, they surrounded him. But he was no longer there. As soon as they’d begun closing in, he darted to the right, towards the cavern entrance to buy himself space and a possible means of egress should this get out of hand. Candidly, he didn’t expect much trouble. He’d battled worse, and these creatures, regardless of their eldritch appearance, numbered only six.
How wrong he was.
A split instant after this very thought had crossed his mind, he had the abrupt impression that the ceiling was falling apart right over his head. Only it wasn’t the ceiling. Talons outstretched and shrieking something incoherent, more of the sickly creatures were dropping in through the ceiling aperture. Ten... fifteen... twenty...
Eyes widening, he launched himself into a roll, tucking himself in to avoid the hurricane of wings and talons above him. He came up at the cavern’s mouth and took off at full speed down the tunnel.
Tlenes? It was a small wolf pack, thankfully. All four are dead, and I’m currently waiting for you at the sixth bend. How about you?
Me? Let’s see... I’m running for my life with thirty of our little friends behind me. I think I'm about to die. Aside from that, everything's going just fine.

Eligh and Norakai flew back to the village, flying as fast as possible without being seen by the invaders. Soon Eligh spotted Rayen on the ground, and signaled Norakai to land. Sliding off, he slipped and fell on his ankle, probably twisting it very badly, if not spraining it. Not seeming to care, he kept on going toward Rayen, skipping every other step on his right foot, hopping on his left.
"Rayen!" He hobbled over so that he didn't have to say the rest so loud, lest there be any would-be attackers near, however small the chance was. "Something is in the canyon. Someone is in the canyon. Living beings."

Aeryn grinned. "That would be perfect!"

Annalett nodded.
"Now please take me back to my shop." She said...

Rayen looked up when she heard her name being called and was surprised to see Eligh hopping towards her. He had an urgent look on his face, so she stood quickly from where she was crouched down with Adahy. He had almost gotten to her, but she trotted to meet him anyway.
"In the canyon?" she repeated after him, "Invaders?" A shiver of fear ran down her spine. No one but the Yanua ever came here.

Eligh nodded dreadfully.
"Aye. Black creatures of some sort... I don't know what to do... He looked back towards where he had been, as if waiting to be devoured by an unseen shadow. "Do you think we should go and see Zhicoal?"
((If they do, I'll play 'im))

Black creatures of some sort...? Rayen pondered Eligh's words. She didn't know what to think or what to do really. Who or worse what could these creatures be?
She nodded when he suggested going to the Zhicoal. "Aye," she agreed, "The Zhicoal could help. I can't think of anything else that might help us."
Then she looked down at his ankle. "But you're hurt," she said with concern as she gestured to his ankle. She had noticed how he had had to limp over to her. "Do you need help?"

Tlenes managed a rendezvous with Evandyr at the second cavern. Together they fended off the pursuing creatures long enough to reach the tunnel's mouth, where they promptly launched off into the twilit sky. The diminutive monsters' tattered wings didn't see capable of supporting their twisted frames, and eagle and rider soon left them far behind.
They are... degenerated, Evandyr hissed, his thoughts strangely turned inward as they soared above the canyon.
Catching something apprehensive through their mental link, Tlenes glanced sharply at the back of the Hanari's tufted head. Something's wrong. Tell me.
It is... nothing...
He highly doubted that, but he let his bonded partner keep his own counsel. His broodings were interrupted by yet another mental tingling at the back of his head.
A black storm moves in the canyon below. Do you see them?
Squinting into the ravine's shadows, he did indeed sight something that resembled a rapidly moving army. He scowled. Coupled with the events he'd experienced earlier, this seemed to coincidental. And Tlenes didn't believe in coincidences.
I must warn my brethren.
Tlenes cursed under his breath. What?
You may have forsaken the ancient ways, but I feel obliged to the Toru-hi still. With that, Evandyr angled his flight towards the Yanua village.
