At that time, I had just turned fourteen years old, and somehow I was very glad to be able to be hellbent on impressing the girls in our school, since although I have always been the clown of the class it didn't work out very well with the girls. As we had no bass player I played the bass line with the keyboard, and as we had no singer the band told me at our 2nd rehearsal that I now was the singer. Of course, I couldn't do that at all, but to be honest my drive for personal prestige was bigger than the fear to make a fool of myself with my puberty voice. At that time I was able to persuade my parents to not send me to the organ classes anymore. Anyway, what became of the band is likely well known, the only thing worth mentioning is my inglorious leaving from school. I wasn't anymore Tobi who wanted to learn in order to become a journalist sometime, but very soon I was the singer of a heavy metal band, who had to live, at any price, all the cliches, at least I told myself so. From a good pupil at grammar school I turned into the class clown and troublemaker very fast, and I had to leave school because of rapidly declining grades. Well, at that time I told everybody that I didn't care about that because I would become a musician anyway. I didn't know that at that time, and so this all could've become a very stupid own goal, but who cares?
