((BUMP))
Kaisa stayed silent the whole journey home. Doctor Hudson's words swirling round her head. Every word on the piece of paper with the test results lingering. She remembered it all word for word. This wasn't an unusual occurance anymore, and things were getting progressively worse.
The taxi pulled up at her apartment, paying the driver without a word, Kaisa got out the cab and made her way up the stairway to her flat. Turning the key and walking inside the sitting room, she walked past her flatmate in what would appear to someone watching her, an absent minded daze. Kaisa walked into her room and flopped down onto her bed face first and sighing heavily. She lay there for what felt like hours before a female voice behind her brought her out of her trance.
"Hey Kaisa, hun. Are you alright? You seem a bit" the girl struggled with her words "Dazed"
Kaisa turned her head to the side to see a tall girl with long black hair looking down at her with concern etched onto her face. Kaisa pulled a face and shrugged her shoulders slightly.
"I swear that slacker works you too hard. You need a vacation babe" she smiled in sympathy
"It's not him, not this time" Kaisa sat up on her bed and patted next to her "I got my test results back today Jen'" Kaisa finished as her friend sat next to her.
Jen looked more concerned at Kaisa's statement "Oh my God Kaisa, it totally slipped my mind..I'm so sorry. How did it go?" she said apologetically and slipped her hand inside Kaisas.
"Well...it seems I got the all-clear. Nothing's wrong apparently" Kaisa grumbled, still cynical about the results.
Jen broke out into a broad smile and hugged Kaisa "Oh I am so relieved." she pulled away to look at her friend and noticed Kaisa was not sharong her enthusiasm. "Kaisa?" was all she could say
"I'm fine, just , it's been a stressful wait for the results." Kaisa said, lying for the second time in as many hours. She hoped it wasn't the start of something habitual.
"You know what you need to cheer you up?" Jen stated boldly, with a huge grin on her face "A night out on the town with me and Scotty"
Kaisa cringed "Oh no way. I'm not playing threes a crowd, not tonight."
"Aw come on, I'm sure Scotty has some really cute guy that would love to be your Prince Charming" she giggled at her friends reaction.
"No blind dates, no playing gooseberry. You go out and enjoy yourself, I just need rest. I'll be fine tomorrow." Kaisa replied with a warm smile.
Jen was always trying to set her up with friends of her boytoy of the moment. It was as amusing as it was frustrating. But Jen was sweet and meant well.
"Spoil sport" Jen fake pouted. "I'll see you laters gorgeous...and don't wait up" she winked and bounced out the room to get ready.
Kaisa slumped back onto her bed and began to doze off into some much needed sleep.

Connell slipped outside during a brief lull in the crowds. He took a long drink from a glass of water, and leaned against the wall to give his legs a quick rest.
Connell noticed a waitress, also taking a break, wandering around, smoking. Connell frowned. Smoking was fine outside the building, but she was getting too close to the front of the building, where smoking wasn't allowed. He had reminded her about that before. Almost without thinking, he snuffed out her cigarette from where he stood. She took it from her mouth, looking confused, then tossed it in a trash can and went back inside.
Stupid! Connell told himself. He shouldn't have done that. He'd have to be more careful not to slip up and use his power.

[I apologize for not posting in a while, I've been super busy and haven't been able to get on the computer much!]
Evelína grabbed the keys to the car from the table and went outside. She closed the door to the log cabin, she never bothered locking it, and stepped down on the ground from the porch. She spotted the rusty old pick-up truck sitting underneath the tall spruce tree and couldn't help but smile. It had been her companion for a decade now. She had learned how to drive well before the legal age, her parents didn't think it mattered since nobody was around to check on them anyway. A four-wheel-drive in the summer and a snow mobile in the winter was the only way to get around this far north. The terrain was always heavy with very few paved roads. She preferred it that way though. She loved the solitude and she welcomed the thought of no unexpected visitors.
The truck soon pulled out of the glade and made its way through the bumpy forest terrain. Evelína turned on the radio. The airwaves gave nothing but a surging, crackling noise. She twisted and turned the tuner but couldn't find a station.
She didn't notice the huge tree trunk until it was too late...

Stupid, to think you could catch a taxi at this time of day, Ami told herself with a touch of grim irony as, bag slung haphazardly over one shoulder, she attempted to wend her way through downtown New York without getting hopelessly lost. At one corner she stopped, rubbing her head. She was already ten minutes late, with no idea of where she was going, and the thought of going back to her hotel room for some much-needed sleep and inventing an excuse when her employer phoned was looking more and more tempting.
She felt a stab of mild guilt at this, and reassured herself that she would tell him there were no taxis and she'd gotten lost - it was true.
But if she could find her way back...?

I don't think it's too late as we've just started. Check with Phoenix first but I can't see why it should be any problem since none of us have interacted with each other yet Just make sure you read through the whole thread so that you're up-to-date with the story and what everybody's been writing so far.

If we can still join then I'm game! This sounds fun.
Name: Tally Matthews
Age: 24
Sex: Female
Location: Wherever she’s assigned-currently Seattle, WA
Appearance: Beautiful but in a cold way. Fair skin, large dark hawk-like eyes, tall, and muscular from training. Long, dark brown hair and full red lips. High, sharp cheekbones.
Occupation: Tracker, Abductor, and occasional Assassin for the Agency
Power: Telepathy-she can read, speak to, and control minds
Personality: Tally is patient and deceitful because she’s been trained to be so. She tells people what they want to hear. She also is very goal-oriented, knowing what she wants and will do what she has to to get it. Though she has a nasty temper, she has a lot of self- control. She is a dangerous enemy. However, to most she is simply a monster but inside she is a very complex character. Tally can hide what she truly feels and keeps her opinions to herself. She is beginning to doubt the Agency and starting to feel slightly rebellious, doing what they ask but how she wants to do it.
Bio: Tally’s powers came earlier then many. At the age of eight, she heard her parents’ voices in her head. They rapidly developed and at the age of twelve she was a proficient psychic though her powers were uncontrolled. Her parents kept their daughter’s abilities a secret but out of fear, informed the government. A few weeks after her thirteenth birthday, the Agency abducted her from her bed and took her to their facility. They tested her powers, seeing how much she could do. Rather then experiment on her body, they decided her focus levels, powers, and naturally athletic body would be a valuable asset. They immediately began training her (and brainwashing). Similarly to military or a CIA field agent, Tally was taught how to use guns, knives, tranquilizers and a number of other equipment. Her body was put through vigorous physical training, forming strong and quick muscles. She was also educated in the art of lying, deceit, and spying. Today, she travels the world following, kidnapping, and, on occasion, killing for the agency.
I've never seen Heroes so if there is anything I need to change just let me know.

Cool bio! I'm just curious, can she sort of "switch off" hearing other people's thoughts, or does she hear them all the time, whether she wants to or not?

Thanks! Yours is cool too. And as for your question, it depends on her mood. Normally, she can decide when she's using her powers because she is a very controlled person. But when she's just totally lost it, her powers are totally out of control (heads up, this is probably going to happen a few times in the rp)-she can hear everything and is probably inflicting pain in others' heads without realizing it.

The rain heavily pounded down as the gray van rolled away, the woman in the alley staring after it. Her dark, hawk-like eyes framed by long eyelashes blazed unsympathetically. But the image was on repeat in her head. The screaming man failing as the Agency’s forces tried to get him into the van and finally her stabbing a tranquilizer into his neck. And for what? She blinked, trying to answer the question.
But she couldn’t. She had a pretty good idea of what happened to those she kidnapped but since her hunches had never been confirmed it was best not to dwell on it. Her sharp face immediately became blank again and she pulled up the hood of her long black coat over wet, dark curls.
Stepping onto the curb, she walked out of the alley and started her trek back to her apartment. Though it was raining the streets of Seattle were still bright and full of people. Rain was part of their daily lives. She pushed through the crowds slowly and paused at the piers for an instance, watching the docked sailboats bob gently on the water. Finally, she opened the door to her apartment.
It was a nicely furnished room, painted rich browns and much of the upholstery was an earthy green. She hung up her coat and flung her keys on a table waiting by the door. She entered her bedroom and crossed to a wardrobe. She unlocked it and opened it. But instead of a TV or clothes inside, an array of fluids, guns, and assortment of other equipment was neatly organized. She took a small gun holding tranquilizers out of her pocket and set it with similar ones.
Quickly, she closed and locked the cabinet and went back into the same room where her cell phone was ringing. She didn’t know the number. She was confused for a moment as very few people had her number. “Hello. This is Tally Matthews,” she said, her voice edging irritation.
“Hello Agent Matthews,” said a male voice. “Good work today on your successful abduction. But the Agency has another assignment for you.”
What a surprise, she thought rolling her eyes.
“We are sending data to you on another one. Her name is Ami Wheeler. Your assignment is track her and any others we send you or that you discover. Believe me when I say, you will have a lot on your hands when you arrive. We are already compiling more for you.”
“Her location?” she asked.
“She lives in Vancouver but arrived in New York only a few hours ago. Along with her information, we are sending an online airline ticket confirmation. Tomorrow, you will board a six A.M. flight to New York.” She inwardly groaned as the phone line went dead.
Throwing the phone onto the couch, she went to the laptop set up on the coffee table. Clicking on the Agency’s Database, up popped a detailed biography on Ami Wheeler. Another window opened containing her flight information that she printed off along with the woman’s information.
She packed clothes, laptop, guns, tranquilizers, pretty much the entire contents of her wardrobe. Heaven knows how long she would be there and besides; Tally Matthews was on the prowl.
(so you all better watch out)

((Hehe, indeed...I shall be vigilant, though I can't say the same for my character ))
Having miraculously wended her way back through the streets of downtown New York, Ami was quite pleased with herself upon taking the elevator back up to her room. She fired off a scrupulously polite, deferential email to her employer - to the effect that she'd been unable to make the appointment and could he please reschedule it? - and after a moment of thought switched off her cell phone. Time differences or no, she'd be in an extremely bad mood if a call from some well-meaning but ignorant colleague woke her up.

(lol)
After a seven hours sitting on an airplane, Tally was in an extremely bad mood. It was 4:30 in the afternoon when she stepped off the plane. Immediately she headed for the special place to pick-up her luggage. The Agency had slipped around airport security, making it possible for her to bring her gear. The only thing checked was the handbag she had brought as carry-on. Grabbing her suitcase and duffel bag, she waited for awhile at the car rental before getting a nice car town to drive around.
She drove downtown, knowing the hotel and room number Ami Wheeler was staying in. But no sense to go breaking in. Tally got a room at the hotel and saw to her things before settling down in the lobby with a coke and a magazine waiting for her prey to either leave or come. Today her work would be done traditionally. Tommorow, she'd have the security images for the camera in Ami's hall and be devising some way to put a tracker on her.

Ami's day had been decidedly better than the one before. Having spent it catching up on various miscellaneous tasks, the one rescheduled appointment, and an excellent lunch in one of downtown New York's crazily expensive cafes, she returned to her hotel room around five-thirty pondering happily what she'd order for dinner.
Habitually scanning the relatively empty lobby as she waited for the elevator to come down - it was taking quite some time - Ami's gaze floated over its solitary occupant with the same air of quiet curiousity that characterized much of her life. She was not searching for anything out of the ordinary, and likely would not have found anything even if she had, so after a moment her attention turned to ensuring that she remained an entirely normal color. Lapsing into the tones and sometimes textures of her surroundings came very naturally, and knowing full well the awkwardness of explaining such an instance she'd gotten quite adept at preventing it from happening.
Before the elevator came down, however, her cell phone buzzed in her purse and Ami dug for it amidst her passport and various other papers, stepping towards a window to improve the signal strength.
"Yes, Ami, it's Carlos, glad I caught you. Listen, can you get on a flight back here tomorrow? Or at the very latest the next day?"
Bewildered, Ami's expression settled into a frown. "I thought I was staying for another four or five days at least - what's happened?"
"One of our contacts has pulled out, and we're short of personnel. Can you do it?"
"Yes, I'll see what I can do about booking a flight for tomorrow."

((got it! and thanks!))
The rush in the restaurant had finally subsided, and Connell's shift ended. He slipped on his coat and stepped out into the chilly Scottish evening. He dug his keys out of his jeans pocket, unlocked his car, and climbed in.
As he drove through the stop-and-go traffic, he kept one hand on the steering wheel and one on the gearshift, using his "power" to change the radio station.
He finally made it to his apartment in a residential section of the city and parked his car along the street. He climbed out the car and locked it-more out of habit than need. He'd accidentally left his keys in his car one day, gone grocery shopping for a couple of hours, and returned to find his car just as he had left it.
As he entered his apartment, he took off his coat and slung it on a chair. The light on his answering machine was beeping, he noticed, and started the messages playing from across the room.
One was from a friend, asking if he wanted to go to a movie, and the other was a recorded message from a charity, asking for donations. Connell erased that one, and decided to call his friend back later.
He flopped down in his easy chair in front of the tv, grabbed the remote, and started swimming through stations. He was soon asleep.

((Awesome Bio Falathiel. Thanks for joining))
Kaisa's eyes blinked open and she turned to look at her clock. She winced as she realised she hadn't slept that long at all. Sighing, she pulled herself out of bed and staggered into the sitting room. Rolling her eyes as she noticed Jen had left the television on. Wandering into the kitchen, she prepped the kettle and slouched over the counter, her head resting lightly in her hands. Kaisa felt her eyes heavy, but she the sound of the television kept her from falling asleep standing up.
A quiz show played on in the background, every question that was being asked to the contestants, Kaisa would fire back the answer with little effort before they even had time to think. Absent mindedly this continued till Kaisa realised the kettle had boiled. Standing upright she made herself a mug of instant coffee.
"If only Jen could see me" she giggled to herself, knowing full well her best friend couldn't stand the instant stuff.
Walking over into the sitting room, she slumped down onto the sofa and sprawled over it. Taking a long sip of her coffee, Kaisa gave a warm, satisfied smile. She looked over at the clock on the wall overlooking the television set and mused to herself.
"Seventeen minutes and 33 seconds and no headache. Record"
Picking up the remote, Kaisa began flipping through the channels in need of something else. Something made her stop at a news channel, she leaned forward as the news reader spoke of another missing person." Kaisa frowned "That's been 12 in 79 days" before the newscaster repeated similar words back. Kaisa shuddered, something about these abductions made her nervous. There was no pattern, no apparent motive.
Flipping forward she tried to forget the news cast. No such luck, every word echoed through her mind. Rubbing her temples she tried to relax and hope that another crippling headache would show up. Kaisa continued flipping channels until she stopped at a music station and left it there and continued drinking her coffee.
