(thanks! and you're welcome to you both [Phoenix and Elenya)

Tally's mind said every word in the book as she listened to Ami's cell phone conversation. There was no way Tally could let her prey switch locations that fast. Quickly, she began devising her next move in the hunt. She stood up and took the stairs to her room.

Ten minutes later, the phone rang in Ami Wheeler's room.

Ami, in the midst of repacking her straightening iron, left her half-open toiletry bag on the bathroom counter and picked up the hotel phone with an air of preoccupation. "Yes?"

[lol... haven't posted here in a long time]

Arielle sank into a chair, the day's events wearing her out. She always found airplane rides exhausting, but this one was so much worse since she had had to stay awake... and solid. Her eyes began to close, but they snapped open again. Bad things had happened the last time she had fallen asleep. As in, she had fallen through the floor. Arielle looked at her feet, checking to make sure they hadn't gone through the ceiling of someone's hotel room. Her heart missed a beat as she noticed that she was standing in between two floors of the hotel.

A second later, she was back in her hotel room, feeling rather shaken.

Connell woke to the sound of a siren on tv. He sat up and blinked to clear his vision.
"...reported he left work at 5 p.m. His wife called the police several hours later, when he hadn't arrived at home." A serious-looking news anchor said. "Police have no leads. This is the 12th dissapearance of it's type in 79." A picture of the man popped onto the screen. "If you have any information-"
Connell clicked the tv off, dismissing the report. It was unusual, but that was in America, not Scotland.

Elizabeth finnished up choosing photos for her paper. She picked three. One for the cover, two for the inside of the paper. Glancing at the clock, it was six o'clock. It had taken longer than expected. Sighing, she stuffed her things in her leather backpack, and walked outside, saying good-bye to her fellow emplees on the way out. She got on her speed-bike and drove away.

At her appartment, which was on the top floor, she stood on the roof, like she always did when she got home, and ate icecream. It was that same exact roof her friend had accidently pushed her off, and that was when she had discovered her powers.

Elizabeth sat on the small stone rise at the edge, and staired out across New York city. It was so large, and vast. So man people who had no clue of people with powers, yet maybe, just maybe, others did know about it.

With a thought in her mind, she put down her icecream bowl, and stood on the edge, and let herself fall. Right before she hit the sidewalk, Lizzie verred upward, and rose higher and higher. Soon she was as high as the empire state building, and was looking down at the city streets bellow. The cars looked like little hot-wheels toys from that far up...

Tally smirked. "What I have to tell you Miss Wheeler is most important so I suggest you don't hang up," she said in her harsh vocals. "You are being followed. Don't bother phoning the police. Those tailing you have permission from the government and by no means doing anything illegal. But I will tell you this much. If you want to live, you'll call those people back, tell them you can't come, and won't get on a plane tommorow."

Ami took a breath. It was a harsh rush of static into the phone. She didn't bother asking who this person was, as pointless questions would likely waste what little time she now seemed to have. Contrary to this unknown person's advice, she replaced the receiver in its niche, making the line go dead.

"I won't get on a plane tomorrow," she said aloud to the empty room. "I'll get on a plane today."

But whoever it was likely watched the elevator and stairs. After a moment of indecision Ami dropped what she was doing and paused, hand on the doorknob of her room. In an instant she was the color of the pale blue and cream hotel wallpaper, and glanced both ways down the hall before making her way to the elevator as fast as she could, where she took on an appearance of slightly fingerprint-marred stainless steel.

Tally went downstairs, waiting near the door. She stretched out with her telepathy around the room.

Meanwhile, the nicely-dressed but slightly gangly young man at the front desk was regarding Tally with an air of puzzlement. She certainly didn't seem inclined to hire a room.

His anxiety was increased when a piercing siren echoed throughout the building - a fire alarm. Instantly many of the hotel's inmates broke in alarm for the stairs, and increasing mayhem ensued.

Ami, unseen and still steel-hued in the elevator, pressed herself into the corner until the crowds would fully occupy the lobby. Hopefully she could slip away in the confusion.

Tally smirked as the alarm went off. Finally. A quarry that would be some what of a challenge. She sensed Ami's thoughts. Though they were hard to locate because of the panicking crowds there was no mistake. She was in this room.

You're a sly one. But we won't let you go easily she said with her telepathy. You're on the list.

Ami, now fully visible, upon charging from the elevator couldn't help but start at the sudden alien presence in her mind. She didn't bother glancing around, knowing she wouldn't be able to pinpoint the origin of the telepathic message, only made full speed out the door and for some public place where she could lose this pursuer. It would take too long to hail a taxi, even though it would be the quickest way to get to the airport.

The psychic sensed Ami's movement and wildly turned to catch a glimpse of her go out the door. She checked on the tranquilizer gun hidden in her blazer and followed her out the door. She lingered behind though, falling into a crowed fifty feet or so behind her.

Ami fought her way through the pressing crowds, brown curls bouncing. She bit her lip, stopping in the midst of a pack waiting to cross the road, and cast an anxious glance behind her. No good. She couldn't see a thing, and would likely not even have recgonized Tally if she saw her.

Airport. And that meant she needed a taxi. Ami slung her purse over her shoulder and scanned the backed-up traffic. On second thought - spotting a subway sign she descended. There had to be a subway that would get her closer to the airport.

Tally didn't even bother watching her. She kept a small connection between their minds, just large enough to sense where she was going. She stayed focused on that connection, thinking of nothing else. Casually, she walked down the stairs into the subway, pinpointing Ami's location telepathically and sat on a bench.

((Amoniel, thanks for joining. Excellent bio))

"Wake up sleepy head!" came the vivacious voice out of nowhere, yanking Kaisa out of her peaceful slumber.

Kaisa shot upright, rubbing her eyes and let out a long stretch and yawned and looked up her friend, who despite having a long night of clubbing, looked fresh and awake.
"How do you do it Jen?" Kaisa grumbled and frowned up at Jen.

"Do what?" she asked with genuine innocence and a curious smile.

"Look that good all the time." Kaisa slumped back into the sofa. It was warm and comfortable and Kaisa just was completely unmotivated to move.

"Oh shut up!" Jen scoffed at Kaisa and joined her on the sofa, resting her head on her shoulders.
The pair giggled like schoolgirls.

"I really don't feel like working today" Kaisa sighed as she realised she would have to get herself ready and make her way to the comic book store.

"Then don't. Call in sick, it's the least Rob owes you for all the work you do for him!" Jen replied matter of factly.

Kaisa let out an audible groan "I wish I could, but I need the money Jen. I'll go in for a bit, do his accounts or whatever and tell him I have another headache and I need to go home" she finished her sentence with a small giggle, but she was serious. "I should go grab a shower Jen, get myself ready. If you want we can head out and grab breakfast before I start"

Jen didn't answer. Kaisa looked round to see her slumped over, finally asleep after a hard nights partying. Kaisa brushed the hair from Jen's face, and lay her across the sofa. She smiled softly and placed a small kiss on her best friends forehead. "Never mind, I'll see you later" she whispered softly and made her out the sitting room to get organised for the day ahead.
