Because this awesome band really deserves its own thread, even if I'm the only one posting. :teehee:

Some of their music:

It must have worked. I was doing my history paper, and A-U called to me. And lo and behold, here is this awesome thread.

YES. CARBON LEAF PWNS!

I first heard them on this mix CD that we all had burned for this camp thing I had to go to this summer. Long story. The song on the CD was Life Less Ordinary. I immediately fell in love with the band. I played the song repeatedly. I loved it. And I still love it. Since then, I've heard a lot more of their songs, and I love pretty much all of them. The ones you posted are all amazing. What About Everything gets stuck in my head like crazy. So does The Boxer. Actually all this is making me want to listen to them really badly. *changes song*

Raise the Roof. Goodness.

I love them. They have an awesome sound. Barry's voice is amazing, even if I don't find him hot like you do tim4x.

And just as a note: it feels so incredibly weird to be called Starlight. Awesome, but weird.

Oh dear. I think you've set me on a crazy Carbon Leaf spree. I'm going to be listening to them for awhile now.

EDIT: OH MY DOG. I just watched the video for Life Less Ordinary. I'd never seen it before. And I've changed my mind. Barry is hot. Very very hot. And the video itself was awesome. Definitely not what I expected. But very cute and sweet and simple. And I love the end.

EDIT#2: OH MY DOG AGAIN. tim4x, do you remember forever ago when you asked me if I knew The War Was In Color? Well, I just finished listening to it. LOVE. Amazing song. One of my new favorites.

Great, yet another CD I need to buy :P :teehee: LOL

^Welcome to the elite club of people who know Carbon Leaf! Your member benefits include, knowing great music and having all of the people with really cool music tastes being impressed with you! *High fives* :P

Starlight:
YES!

That's great. Accidental discoveries like that are too cool. I remember that my mother was helping a friend back up her computer a few years ago and put all of the songs from the friend's computer to ours. There were a bunch of songs with no titles, artist name, or anything. We searched the lyrics and found that we had Indian Summer. Great CD. We played Life Less Ordinary about 100 times in two weeks.

Their sound is so original, probably because there are about 10 of them. :P

I told you he was hot. TOLD YOU. *Laughs maniacally*

Amazing song. I need to find a link to it...

YAY!

Yay Gil! Another [s]minion[/s] crazed fan! And I know exactly what you mean. I too have an ever growing list of CD's I need to buy.

Accidental discoveries are definitely awesome. I love them. I never did thank the girl who picked that song to put on there. I should do that one of these days. Life Less Ordinary is definitely addictive. I'm listening to it right now in fact. <3 We have an orchid growing in my kitchen window, and I'm going to think about the video for Life Less Oridinary every time I see it now.

If someone had described them to me before I'd heard them I probably wouldn't even have wanted to listen to them because they have country undertones, and I hate country. But they just rock. The fact that there are ten of them adds to it.

Why? Why are you always right? It was nice though. I started watching the video and then all of the sudden there was this incredibly hot man flashing across my screen. Somehow pictures just never conveyed the hotness to me. I needed to see the video.

It is amazing. I've listened to it a couple of times now. I love it.

I hate that radioblog doesn't have more of them. A few days ago they had a bunch of stuff and now they only have four songs. Four. That's pathetic. At least youtube has a massive amount of stuff. *hugs youtube and kills radioblog*

I'm still waiting for FM to come since I now know that she likes Carbon Leaf too. :bounce:

Hehe thanks for the 'welcome' guys :teehee:

My brother and I both think they sound Irish :P Seriously, I had to google them and see where they were from! Virginia?? I swear they have Irish accents! :swoon:

^They definitely do. And I thought they might be, since Barry is an Irish name. But maybe my mind just works it odd ways. I'm glad I'm nto the only one who thinks that though. Like tim4x said, it's apart of the awesomeness.

Yup, and you should. *Wants an orchid now*

Same here. You have to hear them.

Because I rock. :P Now I'm going to go look at mah favorite picture of him...

<3

I saw that. It was angering.

I might have to PM her as she almost never comes in this section.

*GASP*
I can't believe I haven't see this thread yet! Aaah, I'm such a bloody fool to not check the music section more often!
*tortures self by staring at Carbon Leaf album and not allowing self to listen to it*
*sweats*

Okay, I've suffered enough. I hereby promise to come to this section more often, and if I don't, please bombard me with threats of cutting of my ears. :P

On topic: Yes I LOVE Carbon Leaf. I fight with myself over calling them my favorite band at the moment, and honestly I think they are. All hotness aside [although Barry is so beautiful] the band would rule if the guys were as ugly as all getout. The lyrics are always SO FULL of quotables and amazingness that just makes me keel over in bliss. I think they deserve a LOT more recognition than they get.

Raphael has gotten me addicted to "The War Was In Color", which is probably my new favorite song of theirs. The music video to it is I N C R E D I B L E ! ! You must watch it or suffer the rest of your life knowing you missed out. Live Life Less Ordinary is a "FM-go-fan-crazy" song too, another one is Royal One.

*GAAA-HASP!*

You guys don't have a Royal One link up yet? Must remedy that. This one is pitiful quality, but oh well. Carbon Leaf owns even on fuzzy picture and cracking audio.

Royal One

Yay! FM is here! We'll hold you to that promise you know. *sharpens knives*
I agree with everything you said about the awesomeness that is Carbon Leaf. The War Was In Color definitely became my new favorite after I heard it, and the video is amazing. Royal One I had never heard, but after listening to it I really REALLY like it. As I expected to. Even if the quality wasn't that great.
It seems weird that more people don't know them here. I guess it's not that weird, since I didn;t know them until my "accidental discovery", but now that I do know them it seems amazing to me that the world doesn't know them and love them along with me.

Of course, that's the way it always seems. Pre-AU, I always gradually assumed no one knew the bands I liked. And then I randomly mentioned a few band names- and poof! I have fellow fans! Simply amazing!!

Yeah, but they're kind of lacking in fans around here.
*pokes people*
