It's possible that the "Errors" were intentional because there are some circumstances where it was simply safer for him not to wear contacts with the scene they were shooting if PJ randomly thought up a great shot for the movie and the make-up team was not intending for it happen so they didn't get in his contacts. Either way --- I think we can forgive them.

I didn't notice that until I saw this forum and I payed close attention the next time I watched FOTR, and I laughed out loud when I saw it. (My friends thought I was going crazy because I was laughing whenever a closeup of Legolas was shone.) But hey, that's me alright!

i have a standee of Legolas (yes i drool whenever i walk into my room. and next door when i go into my sister's room, there, standing there is WILL TURNER!!!!! i love chirstmas!!! ) and his eyes are blue, and it doesn't really match him. but he's still sexy

well legolas is one of my fav characters. he is really hot, but he's cool too because of his skill and friendship with aragorn and gimli especially and all that good stuff.

Yeah thats what i was thinking. Like when theres that close up of him, i think it's in the TT, thats the most important time to have him wearing his contacts. And you really think he could concentrate if something was bugging him and he couldn't see!! Anyway, you don't really pay attention to the characters eyes anyway, you should be concentrating on the movie!

that is true. I never would have really cared or paid any attention unless someone had brought it to my attention. and you're right Maethoriel, he probably would've given a better performance without the irritation. I wear contacts and if they're bothering me, it can be hard just to carry one a conversation.

I just watched all three movies again and even though I had browsed through this thread before I didn't notice Legolas' different eye-colors. So perhaps that finally proves I'm not a fangirl... or simply that I'm not paying attention.... you choose!

I saw that, it makes me laugh. There are lots of fun things like that. My friends and I decided to play LOTR "drinking" game (only we drank water, because there were so many things to "drink" for) and when Legolas' eyes turned brown was one of them. What else... Every time Sam says Mr. Frodo, every time Frodo falls down (this is hilarious if you watch all three. he falls like 17 times in TTT), every time Legolas has a one-liner, every time there's a close-up of someone's eyes... and all sorts of other stuff. It was so fun!
