Yes!! I heard yesterday! I don't even know what to say. I'm sad it's ending so soon. And I'm really sad because I'm going to be doing this program in Quebec, so I lost my last chance to go to a book release party I might not even be able to read it until the beginning of August, when I get back.
*sigh* I will be so mad if someone spoils the ending for me.

Squeee! Aye I heard the news too Kit, and I nearly died of happiness! Though, I agree with Beri. It makes me sad to think that this will all be over come July...

I'm really excited! Like Beri said, though, I'm sad the series will be over And I might be at camp, so who knows if I'll be able to go to a party! Hopefully I'll be able to drive to town and get the book though

Me, too, Beri...
I just hope it's really long. I want it to take a while for me to finish.

I'm not the only crazy one! I always want books to be like a 1000 pages long so I'll never finish them

Hurrah for HP7!!
I'm actually a little nervous because I took a job at a ranch...sort of far away from any Barnes & Nobles or whatever. But, if I can't get the day off, I'm going to drive like a madwoman to a Barnes & Nobel. I'm actually thinking of placing a hold for a HP book at the nearest B&N so I don't really have to worry.
Anyway, I don't know how many of you know, but I just saw the "release" of the cover of the book. Well, at least the American cover. I know it's different around the world. Or whatever. Bleh...
ANYWAY, there was apparently a thing on the Today show...so, yeah. Here be a link:

I might hazard a wild guess and say that some of the story takes place in Gringotts also, with all that treasure. The stag either symbolises James, or a Patronus comes up in the story a lot. The armour in the pile of gold must be important in some way; it has a Dragon on the helmet, I'm trying to remember how/if that could be significant.
Holy cow...how did you come up with all that?
Wicked.

Wicked indeed. The UK edition looks spectacular! I'm already looking for book/picture connections like Ellie is! And I have to say that the US edition is nicely done too. What's that around Harry's neck? Slytherin's locket perhaps?

You guys like the UK cover? I'm quite disapointed by it. I think it looks a lot more childish than the others which seems wierd as this'll be the least childish book. I way prefere the US cover though I usually prefere the British ones.
Though what's very exciting is that they give us the back of the book I wonder if the person who wrote that's read the book. Judgeing from both the adult and the kids UK ones it looks like Harry's going to start off at private drive then be taken by the order to the burrow (probably for Bill and Fleur's wedding) and then set off from there to start his task - probably he'll go from there to Godric's Hollow.
Also the book looks as if it's going to be a decent length judging by the spine cover

600 or so pages in the UK edition I've heard and 784 in the US edition.
And now that you mention it Elanor, the UK edition does look slightly "childish". It's not terrible though. The adult edition looks extremely sophisticated, but then again, it is the adult version.
Have you all seen the back cover on the US edition? Voldie's on it! It seems as though he and Harry are both looking at someone or something above and away from themselves. And what I first took to be tombstones is actually people's heads! It's as though they're in some sort of colloseum..

Here you are Haldy-- http://www.mugglenet.com/viewer/?image_ ... usfull.jpg
As for Harry and Voldie being behind the veil, that's entirely possible. Even if he doesn't venture in there, I'm positive we'll see it once more during the final book. Jo just can't leave us hanging like that.
@ Gwen: More like shadows or sillhouettes of heads. You can see they're not quite rounded enough to be tombstones, and you can tell they're attached to shoulders.
