Okay, after reviewing our older music and realizing how utterly terrible we were at times, I have determined that y'all just need to hear our most recent music :teehee:. The following three songs are from our District competition last month (we'll be performing these again next Saturday at State):

Colonel Bogey March (Me on snare)

Legend of Knife River (The solo flute you start hearing around 1:44 is BlueEyedGirl4God, and I'm playing the bongos)

Mars from "The Planets" (Me on snare again :teehee:)

I couldn't get them to work, PotR. I'm sorry. :(

My family (minus Rad this time, though he has a sweet baritone) spent about an hour recording yesterday, and I think we have a few good tracks. To make a long story short, we met a man at a reenactment event who portrayed an American Civil War soldier, and collected antique instruments and music. He sang a few beautiful pieces for us, then lamented that he couldn't sightread, so he didn't know what most of his authentic music sounded like. We fairly yelled that we could sightread, and would love to learn some of his music (being a musical family and history buffs to boot). He agreed to send us the sheets music if we would record it for him. So that's what we've been working on.
This is a little scary. I haven't posted my voice for all to hear before. >.< In both clips, I am the soprano, my mother is the alto, and my dear dad is the bass. The recording doesn't do him justice by the way...he has a beautiful voice.

So. Here is a Civil War ballad, words written by a lady in my town. The title is "Rock Me to Sleep, Mother."
http://media.putfile.com/Rock-Me-to-Sleep-4

And another, more widely-known tune- "Weep Not For Me."

There you go.

potr: Very cool. Aside from me knowing nothing about that kind of music, I thought you guys sounded awesome. And yay for persussion! :P Good luck at your State competition by the way. I'm sure you guys will be great.

Nie: Wow. That's really all I can say. You and your family all have lovely voices. Seriously, you guys sound professional. And you have nothing to be nervous/scared about. You sound wonderful. And not only do you guys sound great, but the songs are interesting to me since I'm also into history. We have a Civil War elective at my school that I'm in. And I'm a soprano as well. But yeah. I really liked it. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, Nienor, those are beautiful...

Here is some of my guitar stuff... all of it's really easy because my most recent teacher really doubted my ability to sight-read, so everything was totally easy. Sometime next year I should have recordings of me playing in our praise band at youth.

anze Pastorale and Estudio 2: http://www.mediafire.com/?5z0dlemmney The part in Estudio 2 isn't supposed to be muted... my finger is just too small to get the barre chord properly.

Spanish Prelude:
http://www.mediafire.com/?4zytkuykqu2 Sorry about all the pauses... my little sister was being annoying and getting too close to the computer when I was recording.

Turkish March:

Nightengale, I listened to the first recording, and the music is beautiful. I really like classical guitar, but I don't get to hear it often.

And thank you, everyone, for the compliments. I've been a bit frustrated with my voice lately, so you've cheered me up!

Thank you... I don't actually play classical, though. I was just doing a bunch of more classical pieces to do fingerpicking styles for a while. Thank you, though.

Thank you... I am currently composing music to lyrics my friend wrote, and if I get something down for it I may put it on here... dunno, though.

Tried a harder song, Vocally, The Professor by Damien Rice, one of his B-sides, possibly my favourite song ever:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PXSGSAS7

There is a swear word or two, but nothing extreme, its in good taste, I hope its no problem :)
