"I feel like I could sleep for a week, but my stomach decided it wanted food." She smiled and looked over at Sylan.

Sylan finished with the pancakes and sat the plates in front of the two girl, then went and retreved his own plate along with the syrup.

Lanie ate one of her two pancakes and then her cell phone rang. she stood up and went to the other room. " yeah you can pick me up. ok..bye...see you in a minuet." she hung up the phone and went back to the table. she didn't look at either of her siblings. " my friend is picking me up insted of me taking the bus." she said as she put her last pancake on Sylan's plate and stood up again.

she saw Josh's car drive up and she opend the front door. " um ok bye guys...cya later." she said as she dashed out the door and got into the car and they drove away.

"Be safe!" Syaln called after her, he then turned to Corison. "Finish that and then go back up to bed, no arguements. Ihaveto run a couple of errands I wil be back at lunch time." He smiled.

Corison pushed her plate away when she was finished and stood to go back upstares. "Sylan... please don't be gone too long. I hate being here alone." He nodded and took her plate into the kitchen then watched her go back up to bed.

Lanie heard him as he yelled to her. she ignored it.
they got to school and josh kissed her before they both went to class. they were both sophmores but only had one or two classes with each other.

David was on his way to school and he pulled his cell phone out and called Corison's house phone.

Corison jumped as she phone started ringing. She had almost been asleep. She pickedup the pnone, "Hello?" She said into the phone.

"I'm doing better ... Sylan won't let me out of bed though and I can't say I blame him... I was almost asleep before you called." Corison smiled. "Don't worry about me David, you should worry about your driving. Call me when you get to the school, I'd rather you keep both hands on the wheel."

David smiled at her concern. " ok i'll call you later then. i'm sorry for waking you up. have a good day." he said as he heard her hang up after saying goodbye. he put his cell phone down and put both hands on the wheel just like she wanted.

Corison smiled after hanging up. David's sweet... She though brfore realiseing what had gone through her mind. What am I thinking ... he's my best friend... that's wierd... She closed her eyes and drifted back to sleep.

Sylan headed dwon to sign up four the tournament.

David got to school and went to his first class.

Hours later school was done.
Lanie was stuck in detention. she had been talking to josh durring math. becuase they both hated it. and a teach caught them so they both got detention. Lanie sighed. Sylan was going to rake her over the coals. this was the 3rd time this week she had gotten detention.

she quickly wrote a note to Josh. <i> hey, if you could drop me off at my house a few blocks away that would be great. i don't think Sylan likes the idea that were hanging out. and he doesnt know there were together and he would surely blow up at you if he knew.</i> she sliped the note to josh.
he read it and nodded.

David had gathered Corison's homework and was going by the house. he drove up in their driveway and knocked on the door.

Sylan had gotten hom around luch like he said he would. Corison was still asleep and he didn't wake her. She needed to rest.

A few hours later the buss went by and he began to wonder where Lanie was. He was startled by a knock at the door and went to open it. "David ... Hi, come on in."

Sylan took the papers and glanced up the stares. "She's still asleep as far as I know... why don't you go check on her for me?" He asked as he turned to put the papers on the kitchen table.

Corison was indeed still asleep although it wasn't at all peaceful. Nightmares plagued her, getting worse the closer it got to the anaversiry of the fire.

David smiled. " ok i'll be happy to." he said before walking up stairs. he got to Corison's room and opened the door quietly. he saw she was asleep but it was ovious that she was restless. he sat at the edge of her bed and watched her.
