Oh my I have not been to this thread in quite awhile...
Well to all other shippers of this couple....(gives alll LEowyn shippers a high five) We are Very few and far between but there do seem to be a few here who think that they might not be a bad idea. :-D So that is cool.

~Miriel~, They had another scene together in the extended version!? Oh, that is so cool! Did they actauly talk or where they just standing together? Do you have a screen capture of that scene?
Well they most certainly are not a cannon ship but I ship them all the same. I think that they would look really cute together and that their personalities would be, at the very least, interesting to see put together. They are both freedom loving, caring, sweet, good natured, brave, battle experienced, and protective souls. Then Eowyn had a bit of a fiery temper where Legolas was more of a go with the flow kind of person...sometimes oppisites attract. I think that they have to have some things in common (for example the things that I listed above would be a good place to start) but that oppisites, on some level, certainly do attract.

~RinielAranel~ Yes I am very attached to LEowyn. See now I even have a name for them :-D (laughs)
Uh well if I was standing next to him I would majorly swoon and I am a girl. So why not every girl....why not Eowyn? (laughs) I agree Aragorn/Eowyn/Faramir's story was complete without Legolas. Legolas most certainly was not necssary but it would be fun if he were involved with that story and ended up with Eowyn in my opinion. :-D

The deal is, when Tolkien is telling what is happening in the book he doesn't exactly say where Legolas was standing. But he is always there, anyway; so the most logical place for him to be would be beside Eowyn.

It's like he's protecting her, in case Grima goes wild or something. In the book Gandalf had Eowyn leave the room. But I really, really like the idea that they were friends.

Oh, we posted at the same time!

I can't find a screen cap of it, I wish I could! I think it is really funny, but if you want them together you may not like it! Here's how it goes:

Aragorn: We’ll place the reserves along the wall. They can support the archers from above the gate.

Legolas: Aragorn, you must rest. You’re no use to us half alive.

Éowyn: (v.o.)My lord! Aragorn!

(Éowyn approaches Aragorn)

Éowyn: I’m to be sent with the women into the caves.

Aragorn: That is an honorable charge.

They kind of argue a bit, because Eowyn wants to go and fight with him, and he thinks she should stay. Legolas is standing way away from them, guiding the people into the cave, but he looks like he doesn't want to be in the middle of the argument.

Éowyn: You do not command the others to stay! They fight beside you because they would not be parted from you. Because they love you.

Then she realizes she basically just said she loved him.

Eowyn: I’m sorry.

She turns and runs through the crowd of people and almost runs smack into Legolas, but he moves out of the way just in time. But they definitely touch, and for a split second he has this look like "I'm not the one who made her mad," and the scene cuts way too quickly! But it's really funny!

Miriel, Yes it would indeed make sense for Legolas to stand beside Eowyn, just as much as it would anywhere else.
Oh that is sad. Perhaps sometime I will be able to find one. I doubt it though. If I do though I certainly will post a link for it here. :-D Thanks greatly for looking! :-D
Wow that sounds like a great scene. It is not good for myself and fellow LEowyners that Eowyn pretty much said that she loved Aragorn but hey LEowyn did have interaction there and that is a good thing. Plus for fanfiction writters....major potiental there. You could always write that Legolas heard and watched Aragorn and Eowyn's incounter more closer than what seemingly transpired in the movie (and it would still be believable) and that he was upset with Aragorn for breaking Eowyn's heart. Legolas really wanted to protect Eowyn and loved her.... ..well you could write that. :-D Oh there is so much potiental for wonderful fanfiction following that scene!

:-D You crack me up!

Hey, maybe I will write a fan fic about that. I already have a ton of Legolas stories, but none with Eowyn in them. We definitely need more of Legolas and Eowyn.

But sorry, I'm not saying he had a crush on her! I just can't see them as a couple! :-D

Something to think about, though: Wouldn't Legolas be glad if Aragorn broke her heart? Cause that would mean she was still available. :-D

But if he knew she'd never love him yet want her to get Aragorn because then she'd be happy...then yeah that's more like it!

Only I don't think Legolas would think either of those things because Legolas is wise and he would know that Eowyn wouldn't really be happy with Aragorn because she is destined to marry Faramir, and he also knows what Eowyn does not: Aragorn is already taken!

Oh, never mind I'm confusing myself!! :-D :bye2:

I actually went and checked out that scene, Miriel, and it's very interesting. Drew's Destiny, though your idea is probably only a theory, I kinda like it. :-D I'm tempted to write a fanfic about that myself, but I don't think I will...it was hard enough to get into an Elf's head when I did an Arwen story, let alone a male Elf.

Yeah...come to think of it is kind of sacrilegious to write stories just about elves because in the book it never really tells what they're thinking, just what they say and what it looks like they might be thinking, and that adds to the mystery of them. They only tell what the mortals are thinking, like the humans and the hobbits.

Miriel, I will take that as a compliment. So thank you. :-D
I think that when I write a fanfiction though I will probabley write it that Legolas is upset that Eowyn is upset. Elves did not strike me as such selfish creatures that they would be happy at other people's pain, even if it could be to their own gain (like if Legolas was happy that Eowyn got her heart broken by Aragorn...because then he would have a chance of being with her). I do not think that Legolas would be selfish in that way. Though it is possable since we never really saw him involved in a trinagle or...let's see....Aragorn Faramir and Legolas all trying to win the heart of Eowyn...that is....four people...involved in a square? Oh my...well we never got to see him involved with anyone is what I am trying to say. Therefore we really do not know for sure what his reaction would be in that situation I supose.
I have never really thought about that either. However now that you mention it I do not remember anywhere in the books where it told what any of the elves where thinking either. Wow... Well see that as a good thing for my possable fanfic. If we reallly do not know what the elves thought, that means that there are no predetermined thought paterns that I must follow for them. That gives me more freedom with that. So it is great for my fanfiction but I really would have liked to have heard/read what Tolkein thought that the elves should have thought.

Anie Surion, Cool. Thank you. :-D Yeah it is just a theory. I was just playing around with the idea and that scene that Miriel was kind enough to tell us about gave me inspiration. :-D lol Well if and when you do write a fanfiction about them please let me know. I would love to read it. :-D

Nooooo, I was just joking around. Like I said I don't think Legolas would think ANY of those things. I know him well enough for that. For all we know, he was just thinking, "How quickly can I be ready to move when Eowyn comes crashing through here?" That's what it looked like to me, but then, since when have the movies always been right?

Ah...you're welcome but...what did I say?

Oh, okay. Yeah I think that we all know Legolas well enough that we know that he would not say/think such as that. (laughs) "How quickly can I be ready to move when Eowyn comes crashing through here" (laughs) That is brilliant! He nearly got ran over by Gandalf's horse (Shadowfax) in the Two Towers as well. He was always having to try to get out of the way of things. lol Poor Legolas. Then Eowyn put herself in the path of things. (like when she tried to protect Theoden in The Return of the King). How fitting? lol
You said that I cracked you up. lol :-D

There is one other thing: Eowyn is a mortal and Legolas is an elf. That is just weird. If someone can give me an example of it happening, I guess it will be proved normal, but the only occasions I can think of are a case of elf girl + mortal man, like Aragorn and Arwen, and Beren and Luthien.

When deciding if two people make a perfect couple, you have to go by more than just hair color.
