Dear Son,

How could you have carelessly lost your elven brush?! That was an heirloom! I'm disappointed in you! I told you you shouldn't bring it along, it's not a good luck charm! I hope you're ready for a good long lecture once you get back home.

Love,
Thranduil of Mirkwood

P.S. As long as you still have your elven mirror, the lecture will be shorter.

Dear Father,
I didn't lose it!! Those sneaky hobbits took it.......or maybe Gandalf took it. I mean I wouldn't blame him, he has hat head all the time from that ridiculously pointy hat. I mean puh-leez, that hat is like so 2100. By the way, I think I'm bieng watched....could you send some elven warriors to protect me and my hair?

Love,
Legolas Thranduilion

Dear Son,

I told Galadriel to send Haldir and others down there. They'll meet you at Helm's Deep. Be sure that grimy human Theoden let's them in. FIND YOUR BRUSH! I don't care if you have to run for days and nights without sleep or bring Gandalf back from the dead! FIND IT OR ELSE!

With love,
King Thranduil of Mirkwood

Dear Father,

Gandalf? Dead! No wonder why you rule Mirkwood.

Sincerely,
Legolas

Dear son,

I rule Mirkwood because no-one else will rule this orc and spider-infested forest!

Now find that hairbrush! No son of mine is going around looking like an ORC!

Love,
King Thranduil aka Dad.

Dear Dad,
We're at Helms Deep. Have you been using in the Palantir again?? Cuz Gandalf's alive and Haldir's here... Yes! Finally other elves!!
Oh and by the way it's still 10,000 against about 500... not such good odds... See ya later!

Love, the soon to be fighting for his life,
Prince Legolas aka Son

Dear Saruman,

My son, Legolas, tells me he is being besieged by your army, and that he is outnumbered 20 to 1. Would you please make sure he is not harmed until he gets a chance to return to me an elvish hairbrush he has yet to find? Or, in the case that you would happen to know where it is, could you send it to me?
Oh, and I would appreciate it if you didn't harm my son, hairbrush or no.

Worried,
Thranduil, King of Mirkwood

I need to know the measurement and of what material you want it made of.
May I suggest oak?

Yours sincerele,

Master Aulë,

I need a 2 meter long staff and oak seems a fine idea.
But could you put a mithril core in it, because I'm affraid someone will brake it otherwise.

Allways your humble servant,
Curumo of many colours.

Dear Thranduil,

Excuse me?! Are you certain you know who EXACTLY you are talking to, little wood elf king?! You are talking to SARUMANTHEWHITEHEADOFTHEORDERSERVANTOFSAURONFUTURELORDOFMIDDLEEARTHLORDOFISENGARDANDCREATOROFTHEURUK-HAIARMY!!!

Ring a bell, perhaps?

How am I supposed to keep 10,000 Uruks from killing ONE little blonde-haired brat?! They LOVE killing elves, and unless I went in there and TAGGED your son myself (which I will NOT do), they would never know it was him. He keeps forgetting to wear that ridiculous circlet, I'm afraid...and as far as that hairbrush goes...I AM HOLDING IT HOSTAGE!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Cackling evilly,
Saruman the White

Dear Arwen,
It seems that Glorfindel is very upset about your little "stealing his scene and horse" escapade! He's booked a double therapy session and a follow-up!! Do you know how much time that takes away from my hairdressing?!?! Now as your grandmother I must beseech you never to exhibit such behavior again! Think of my hair, darling, my hair!

Love a very distressed,
Grandma Galadriel

Dear Arwen,
Darling have you been drinking your father's wine again? Glorfindel is here and I must attend to him instead of my HAIR! Do you realize that a dwarf, a DWARF seems to value my hair more than you do... Tis a sad, sad, world we live in... I have but two more things to say to you, Dont' ever usurp Glorfindel's assignments again, and stay away from your father's wine!

Worried,
Grandma Galadriel

Dear Galadriel,
With all due respect, I'm trying to fight a ruddy war here! May I point out that it does advantage you if I win? However, I am handicapped in that regard if I have to constantly cope with Arwen calling me up all hours of the day and night to sob her heart out about how no one in her family seems to appreciate her?
I hear you are offering therapy sessions... so unless you want to offer them to ME after having to calm down an emotion female elf and fight orcs at the same time (very, very scary... you forget who you are insulting, and who you are calling darling!!!), would you please show a bit more of the tact I presume you display to your clients to your only granddaughter?

Thanks, it would be a great weight off my mind.
Yours in haste, frustation and admiration,
Estel

PS. Legolas wants to know if the comb you gave him was covered by insurance... we're suffering a beauty-product/personal hygiene crisis out here, and to listen to Leg' go on 'bout it, you'd think his hair-care supplies fitted into the latter category! And some smelling salts - he passed out when I let slip that I haven't seriously brushed my hair since Rivendell... Really...

Dear Iluvatar,

Couldn't give'us a bit of advice, could you? Morgoth is kicking up a right fuss down here, kicked down our special pretty trees and Yavanna is throwing an absolute tantrum about it.

A little help would be useful!!!

Impatiently yours,
Manwe!

Dear Estel,
I can understand your pain, but she is MY grandaughter, and if her father doesn't mind then you shouldn't. You will win the war against Sauron and become King of Gondor then I will be gone to the Undying Lands and out of your hair.... Wait... let me rephrase that... hmm.... Farewell for now, I've got to be going....

Sincerely,
Lady Galadriel

P.S. Enclosed I have sent 3 combs, some shampoo and conditioner and ponytails, just in case. Please try to get that dwarf to take a bath, he want's to come and see me again but I don't know if I can be polite to him when he smells like dead orc!
