Smeag ran behind Elen with guards following. Holding her two shampoo-covered hands in front of her, Smeag asked Elen, "Why is he so mad?"

"Well as you see,Aerlinn messed up the things again!I think she painted the whole palace!I wonder from where she found paint and brush...wait a minute.I know-the Varda backpack!Oh!I knew I had to hide this thing from her!"
They reached the fountain and Smeag started to wash her hands.

Dipping her hands into the water, Smeag washed her hands and continued to talk to Elen, "I like it. It will stand out, and help with war plans. Go to the oddly colored city!"

Smeag washed her hand and turned to go back in the palace but Elenthari didn't move.She smiled.

Giggly, Smeag took both the cakes and ale. Beginning to eat, Smeag suggested, "Maybe the Varda people don't want to help Aerlinn. After all, they gave her the paint."

Suddenly Elen and Smeag heard Finrod's scream:
"ELENTHARIIII!"
"Well,it seems we must go back.Smeag,get the food and I'll hide the backpack"Elen was still with the Elven armor and she easily stucked the backpack under the chain-mail.

"The paint was very hard to wash"explained Elen."Any news for Aerlinn"
"No,I hoped you could tell me where she is.I do not doubt you might meet her outside?Am I right?"
"No,my lord I just um..."
Finrod suddenly looked to Smeag,who was eating the last cake and still was holding the ale.
"Where did you find this?"asked angrily he.

"How can I be sure this isn't poisoned?"asked Finrod.That was a stupid question of course but...
Elen was looking at Finrod and Smeag and suddenly she realized that nobody is watching her.She went behind the throne (which was near to a door) and looked once more at Smeag.Smeag saw her.Then Elen made some signs she is running away,opened quielty the door and she left th throne hall.
In this moment she was thinking only for her sister.She was a bit angry at her,but she also though it was funny to paint the whole Nargothrond in more cheerful colors.
