Lorgoth smelt fire from the direction of the horsemen he had spotted, and turned to look. There, he saw the light, and went closer. So the sorcress had decided to play a trick on them. Clever. With a slight smile, he hid behind a tree and waited for the signal, keeping his knives in his hands. The whole time Lorgoth didn't look at the bright fire. That was his one weakness, but no matter, he could stand the light enough to fight when needed.

Vondell smelt smoke, and looked up to see fire, and a small girl in the middle of it. He was about to jump off of his grey horse when he paused. A girl in this part of the woods and so near the evil's lair? Something was wrong here. The ranger waited for the others to make the first move with the girl...

Holly looked up also at the sound of a crackling. "Look!" she cried, a little louder than needed, spottin the unconscious girl. She jumped off her pony and was about to run over (it was in all the elf's nature to help mortals,) but her soldier instinks took her over. She was running low on energy, and magic at that, and her kind was always wary of fire. It was not the night to make a hasty move.

Anira made no move to dismount. Always wary of any dramatic display in the darkness of the night, she fought her instinct to go to woman's aid. Why would a young woman be here, so conveniently placed to distract them-or lead them to harm. Moreover, she could detect no trace as to the origin of the fire, save for magic.
"I do not trust this scene." she whispered more to herself than her companions. "I suspect it is none save the illusion of the enemy.”

"And if she isn't? It wouldn't be right to leave her here where she could die." Malachi jumped off of his horse and picked the girl up, placing her on the back of his horse. She looked scared, terrified even. 'Are you all right?"

Dysterchion drifted through the forest, trailing a deer. But really she wasn't. She had smelled smoke, a few dozen meters ahead, and wanted to investigate. She smelt horses, sweat, and fear, it escaped the pores of the horses and the people riding them, like some vile and dangerous fume. Her head lifted almost animal like as she heard voices, she could barely make them out, but the tone was enough for her to know that some were afraid, and others were indecisive.
She could smell that there were female and males, their smells and tastes as unique as fire and water. Her booted feet made noise, but none could be heard over the roar of the fire. It called to her, the fire, the indomitable thing that it was. Sparks escaped her open hand, only to be exstinguished as she closed it. No need for more fire. Dyst scrambled up a tree, to sit and watch the small child, surrounded by fire, and the fearful ones.
(EDIT: decided that my character has heightened senses, just smell, hearing and taste. And she can smell/hear/taste all of these things before they happen, so its sort of like seeing the future, but without the actual seeing bit.)

Lorgoth, facing the way Dysterchion came from, spotted her at once, but stayed where he was. She was an allay, so there was no need to make his position known to the group just yet.
He peaked around the corner, his silver eyes catching every detail, then back around the tree, listening and waiting. Waiting for the chance to attack.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Vondell stayed on his horse, watching the surroundings at is seems the others were worried about the girl and the fire. He was scanning the trees to his right when he paused. Was that a spark of light like sparks of fire in the distance... and then there... did he just see a silver light like someone's eye looking at them and then quickly disapear behind a tree?
"Cautious," he said, being one of few words, and continued scanning the trees ever closer on either side of him...
Making sure the girl was resting safely on the back of his horse, Malachi turned his attention back to the blazing fire. "We need to do something about this before the entire forest burns down."
The Lady Dainisle galloped through the dark forest when the ominous sound of fire cackling and the smell of wood burning reached her ears. She halted and simply waited as the entire forest began to burn. She had absolutely no power over the elements. She half-heartedly hoped that the party that she was assigned to survived. If not, well, she can always ask for another one. Hopefully a stronger one.
Torais rode up to join Lady Dainisle, watching the flames. He frowned slightly. He knew he could use his power over earth to put out the fire, but he knew he would risk losing control. He didn't want to reveal his presence to the others, so he waited. Maybe if the others took the initiative in putting out the fire, he could help. There wasn't any need to burn the forest down.
Eshtok smiled at the girl- she looked considerably shaken. He moved closer, so he could steady her in case she started to fall. Strange how that fire just started... he thought briefly.
"D'you want a drink?" He grabbed his water bottle and held it out to the girl.
Anira made no comment and turned her attention to the blaze. Chanting an incantation over the earth, she slowly extinguished the flames. She stayed some distance back from the group surrounding the girl, preferring to watch their actions rather than to mingle. She still suspected that the woman was an agent of the enemy-one that may also be skilled in the magical arts. Remaining silent she turned her attention to their surroundings, knowing that such a blaze would have drawn the attention of unfriendly eyes (if they had not already been aware of their presence).
((Sorry I haven't posted, I was out late last night.))
Holly got back on her pony and rode up to girl. Somethink was wrong, but she couldn't put her fingure on it. She looked up as Anira put the fire out, filling the tops of the trees with smoke.
"Did you see how that fire started?" she asked the girl after she had taken a drink.
Dainisle watched as Torais went to the girl and offered to help her. She wondered if he was going to be part of his team. Once again, slightly frustrated at her uselessness, she merely stood there and watched from the background.
[[Really sorry about the lack of posts! Life's getting busier... ]]
Malachi raised an eyebrow. "And yet, you saw no one start the fire? Tell me, what exactly were you doing out here in the woods all by yourself?"
Vondell listened to what the girl said, scanning the forest. His eyes narrowed when he looked back at the girl. He steered his horse and stopped it to stop next to the horse the girl had been put onto. Vondell unsheethed his sword and held the blade at the girl's throat.
"You lie," he said, his voice sharp...
