Sirius was kind of taken aback by her question but his face showed no surprise. "If I like you?" he repeated while laughing. "I can't really say that I know you that good, to make up whether I like-like you or not." He stopped walking. "But perhaps we can get to know each other..?" he winked. Her eyes were sparkling green, but Sirius was not to be distracted and continued to tease her: "Only if you would like that of course.. would you?"

Lily sighed. It was late, she was tired. She wanted nothing more than to fall asleep. She didn't want to talk to Potter about this.
"Look, Potter. I don't want to do this. I'm tired, okay? I'll tell you what: If it bothers you so much, if you really want to think I like you, then do. But I don't, and I won't. So, do me a favour and just stop pestering me?"
This was the first time she had spoken to Potter without an agressive edge in her voice. The first time when she had let her guard down infront of Potter. She buried her face in her hands. And sighed, once again.

Cat grinned "Get to know you better Black? I think I should like that very much indeed. The beginning of term is always very painfull- I suppose you would be a welcome distraction. That and the fact I will have to fihgt my fellow gender off you," she laughed loudly and winked "Dont tell Lily- She'll have a fit."
She reached up and playfully ruffled his hair "And poor James, I suppose htis means we will be seeing more of each other as well."

"Geezs, Evans, take a joke," said James, taking a step back. He liked it better when she was angery. Girls, he thought, you can't do anything without them breaking down. He sighted, wondering were the rest of his friend had gotten off to. Out of all the times to have choses, this was the worst. Remus should been up here with the 1st years.

With that she turned around and walked away.

Sirius grinned mischieviously "A welcome distraction indeed." Playfully he took her hand and he winked. "My lady, my lips-" he placed a teasing kiss on her hand "-are sealed." With that he turned around and he went with his hand through his dark hair. "We better return to the Common Room, Evans may not kill Potter until after the first Quidditch match against Slytherin."

Lily ascended the steps to the dorm and lay down in bed, in all her clothes. She didn't even bother taking her shoes off. And even though she didn't want to waste any more thought on James Potter, she found that the last thing she thought of before she fell into a deep sleep, was his face.
