Eshtok's horse tossed its head and trampled in a circle as the dragon beasts burst into the path. Eshtok struggled to control his animal and draw his dagger at the same time. He cursed to himself as a dragon swooped towards him. What had he been thinking when he joined the group? These people knew how to fight- the most he had done was some hunting.

He ducked low against his horse's neck as the dragon went over him, then quickly dismounted so he could move quickly. The dragon banked and turned, heading back towards Eshtok. Scrambling a few paces into the trees for cover, he took his bow from his back, tightened the string, and drew an arrow. Stepping back out into the open, he spotted the dragon circling over his head. It went into a dive when it saw him. Aiming carefully, Eshtok pulled the bowstring taught, then released it. The arrow landed in the dragon's wing. It landed heavily on the ground. Drawing his dagger, Eshtok hurried to finish it off.

Holly pulled her dagger out of the goblin, and went to stab again, for the wound wasn't fadle. The goblin grabbed her arm and dug his claws into in her skin. She glared and him, "Go back to the shadows," she wisperd and kick his shin. He howled, dropping Holly's arm. With that she drove the dagger into his gut.
She looked at her arm to find blue sparks of magic flowing over the cuts in her arm. Her energy took a dip. She couldn't control the healing of herself.

Vondell stabbed a goblin-like creature in the gut, and then swung his sword around to the other side of his horse to stab his sword down the throat of a wolf-like creature. The wolf yanked away with a howl, pulling the sword out of Vondell's grip, and ran into the forest, bleeding and with the hilt still sticking out of it's throat. Vondell cursed the wolf creature under his breath, and called upon his magic. A fire bolt flung out of his hand and hit another goblin, which fell down smoldering.

Vondell then realised fire wasn't a good idea in such a dense forest, and pulled out his arrows. In his left hand he held the bow and a handfull of arrows, and with his left he shot arrows one right after another without having to reach back to his quiver. When the handfull ran out, he grabbed another handfull.
"At this rate, I'm going to run out of weapons to use. And if it comes to using magic, the whole forest could be burnt down."

Anira stared down at the wolf that crouched before her, ready to pounce. Her sapphire eyes, hardened at the beast as a deep-seated hatred filled her being for the dark creatures that skulked the shadows of these woods. "You will never hunt these lands again." she uttered as she released a beam of light at the wolf as it leapt at her, and tore the beast in two. With that a growl to her left drew her attention as a goblin charged at her unprotected flank. She barely had time to dodge the assault before raising her blade and slitting the creature's throat as it moved in for a second attack.

Holly ran up to another goblin and stabbed twice in to he stomac, he fell on to the ground, with a grunt. She slid her dagger into its scabbord and pulled out her bow. It was small, but the arrow were sharp. She took it to full draw, sighted, and relesed. A wolf dropped in mid leap.

Vondell comtinued firing arrows until finally he was out. Putting his bow away, he jumped off of his horse, kicking a goblin creature in the face at the same time. He would leave his magic as a last resort...

Lorgoth, who had been watching the whole time, came up behind Sterre.
"Good, but unneeded. It did nothing to help us on the mission," he hissed in her ear, and started back deep into the forest. They themselves had to find the crystals, and this fooling around was slowing them down. Let the demons handle the goody-goodies. They can slow them down enough for us to keep ahead of them, he though, knowing his other comanions were amung the trees to his left...

"And the others are somewhere in the bush over there," he refered to the forest on his left with his thumb...

"Well then, you play your little game, and make the bigger game less fun. Cheats just make the winning less satisfying, and controling their minds just makes cutting their throats less filling of the bloodlust. Taking their mind make it's so that they don't grow on one another," he stepped close to he to whisper in her ear. "So that when their companions fall, it makes it much more satisfying when you see them suffer both inside and out..."

Dainisle began to attempt to manipulate the minds of the heroes. The dragon like creatures were multiplied in their minds and so were the assailing creatures. In the end, it seemed that Catharion had emptied his cages on them, when really only a raiding party was sent. It was rather amusing, she thought, to see one of the heroes attempt to slay a "goblin" when in reality, it was just a rock. She spied the little girl and another person and assumed that was her party. She slipped from the spot where she had manipulated the scenes and darted towards them.

"Very good," she said to the girl. "What's next? These guys will soon realise that they're fighting air and earth and they're not going to be too happy about it."

Shade finally arrived where all the noises were coming from..
He stood nearby and leaned against a tree, trying to figure out who these people were.. It looked like they were fighting their own mini battle against..goblins.. and dragons?
Shade studied the creatures with great interest, and he continued to stand there just watching..

Holly fired again bring down another goblin. Then she caught sight of Shade, leaning on a tree, looking rather interested in the battle.
"If you wish for the well being of Mercadova," she yelled over clash off a sword. "You'll draw any weapon you have and HELP!"
Mortals, she thought, nocking another arrow.

Vondell, after kicking a goblin in the head, ran into the forest, and past the boy who was watching. He didn't care about the boy, he wanted his sword back. Vondell ran after the wolf that had run off with his sword, and soon found it's carcass laying on the ground.

As soon as Vondell had retrieved his sword and cleaned it, the wolf flickered, and then disapeared, seeming to blow away but there was no wind(like how the dead guys in RotK disapear).

With realization in his eyes, Vondell made his way back to the group, and scanned the ground.
"Wait," he called to his companions. "They're illusions! Look!" Vondell pointed at the ground around them. Where there should have been carcasses piled on carcasses of wolf creatures and goblins and orcs, there were piles of earth or nothing.

Lorgoth stepped back, and let the darkness become deeper and darker with his power.
"Even though you can control it, you still have much to learn of the mind. Yes, most of your brain shuts off when you sleep. All but the primitive side... the animal side. For some people, their minds are all asleep because they don't have an animal side. But for others, they are more on guard of their mind and more ferocious in their sleep," soon, in the area around Lorgoth, it was so dark, one could see only the silver blue glow of his eyes, and nothing else. But Lorgoth could see every detail perfectly in the dark. "But, I guess thats not my problem, now is it? You can going on playing your little game with these good bodies. And while you do that, I'll go ahead and find the crystals."

With that, Lorgoth slipped away out of site and sound of his companions, and the darkness let up so that it was normal light in the forest as it should be...

Anira slashed through another opponent, then paused feeling her blade pass through nothing but air just as Vondell shouted the warning. You fool. she chided herself, knowing they were all deceived. "There is sorcery afoot here." she muttered as she sensed the shifting of the shadows. "Beware of any extravagant displays. I sense this will not be the end of any mind games."
