Arwyn watched the interaction between Aaron and the hobbit girl for a brief moment before walking over to join them. "Are you alright?" she asked the girl, her eyes softened in concern.

((:hide: I am so sorry! Geez, I have missed two whole pages already! GAH!!!!!!!!))

Aryion looked around the group, noticing that they took no notice of his heed or warning, nor of him, really. He simply shrugged it off. Not everyone was going to like him and if they were in the middle of the demon battle ground, he doubted if they would be in the cheery, talkitive mood anyhow.

He nodded and followed the others quietly, making sure his footsteps would not fall upon cruncy leaves or wooden sticks, for any slightest noise would give away not only his, both the others as well, cover. He looked down at his wolf, Silvereyes, and stroked it's head behind the ears softly and slowly, murmering something into the wolves ear as Aryion watched the demons looked through the hunters dead's bodies, and his soul filled with hatred and he felt like his viens heated up with anger. (Which the could very well have heated up, because of his small power of using and controling fire.)

As one of the women in the group went after the demons, Aryion stopped stroking Silvereyes and the wolf immediately took off after one of the demons in sight, the closest one to the wolf, and it leaped up into the demons chest, knocking it down and attacking it with sharp teeth and claws.

Aryion grinned slightly before he himself charges, his body warm yet his eyes giving off a cold, hard glare at any enemy that came his way, telling them that meeting him meant meeting death. As an demon approached him, Aryion took a defensive position and waited for the demon to attack, never taking his eyes off the beast.

Then, he watched the demon swing a long sword at his head, and at the last moment, he ducked and then fell onto the ground, and he threw his body at the demons legs, crushing them beneath the demons body and taking them out. Then, Aryion lept up before the demon fell upon his own body, and he stuck his sword through the demons back, hearing the demons last gasp of his last breath, assuring its death.

Aryion looked up and thought, Why doesn't that always work? Then, looking around at this companions, if you will, and checking to make sure that Silvereyes was fending off well, Aryion contiuned to fight and kill almost mercisly, fire boiling up inside him. Aryion also noticed that his crystal began to grow faintly inside the poutch it hung in, and he felt the presence of another person...a women, approaching. He wondered if the two were connected, but he figured he would have to find out later as he was in the middle of a battle at the moment.

Vertha winced in pain as one of the demon nicked her elbow with his longsword. She turned to him, sliced both of his arms, and then sliced his neck with her two daggers. The demon groaned and collapsed on his knees and finally died when she shoved her dagger through his throat. Noticing another demon approaching her, she took her free dagger and threw it at him, hitting him straight in the forehead. After extracting the dagger from the demon, she sheathed both of them and started to reload her gun. She made sure no one was trying to attack her while she stuffed the twelve bullets into her gun. Finally, all of the bullets were in and she was able to coldly snipe the demons off as they gathered around her companions.

Paloc stood a short distance away from the main fight, shooting both his pistols with deadly accuracy. He paused to reload the guns. A demon took the opportunity to rush towards the young man. Cursing, Paloc dropped one gun into its holster, drew his knife, and blocked the demon's sword just in time. Using the knife and the other gun as a club, Paloc was able to get the upper hand in the fight and slit the demon's throat.

He took a few quick steps backwards and ducked into the forest while he finished reloading his pistols. Curse it all! he thought. I'm a scout- I'm no good at fights like this. As he stepped back into the open and shooting, he realized his left arm and right side were burning like fire. The demon's sword must have cut him a couple of times.

"No!" Iris shouted out of overwhelming anger and sorrow, "My brother won't listen to me, and look at where it got us. We are now lost and he is going to try to find out what the strange marching is."

Arruina, blocking one blow, then stabbing a demon in the gut, was carefull not to get in the way of the others, who shot off bullets. A demon charged after her, she cut the hand that held it's weapon, and ducked down. The demon didn't have time to stop before it flipped over Arruina and found a blade in the spine.

Now there were only a dozen left. There had to be two dozen that had chased after Vertha. Arruina was caught off guard when her pocket -the crystal- started glowing. A demon took advantage of that and stabbed her in the gut. Arruina felt breathless, and tasted the metalic taste of blood in her mouth.

Arruina gritted her teeth, and grabbed the demons blade and dislodged it from her body. And in the same movement killed the demon that had stabbed her. Holding the wound with one hand, she took down two more demons that were close, then jumped back to the edge of the thicket. Through all this, the hunter's pocket kept glowing a steady silver light. Arruina sheathed her bloodied blade, dropped to her knee, and brought out her 3 barrel pistol. She did as the others did now, and started picking them off with her gun...

~~~~~~~~~
Aaron stood.
"Well, running in the direction you were won't help you," he said, and looked up when a screach filled the air. The demons that had been after Arwyn were now in sight.
"Stay in the bushes," he told the hobbit, taking out his broad sword...
Vertha had just fired her last bullet when the rest of the demons began to flee from rapid hoofbeats in the distance. Vertha looked at the source cautiously. She really didn't feel like fighting off another threat. But it turned out it wasn't a threat at all. It was Larkus, the second in command of the Harishsa Clan, and his bodyguards. Larkus was carrying a rather ornate sword while his bodyguards had rifles and swords. He looked at her and curtly said, "Vertha."
"Larkus," she said with a cold voice.
"He's dead, then?" he asked.
"Obviously."
"Father was wondering what took you so long."
"Oh some entanglements with foreigners."
"Indeed," Larkus said, looking at the slain demons and hunters around the ground. He then noticed Paloc and Arruina but before he could mention them, Vertha cut him off and asked, "Look, Larkus, why don't you tell me what's going on? You know as well as I do, Father doesn't send anyone to make sure an assassination went successfully, much less his second-in-command."
Larkus looked at her darkly and said, "Father wants to talk to you. Something about important business. You're to come with me. Bring your friends if you like."
He turned away when Vertha called, "There's one tiny little problem. Larkus. Leslia is fifty miles away. You can't expect us to get there without horses or carriages or anything like that any time soon."
Larkus turned his head and said, "We've brought a horse for you but your friends, if they want to come, have find their own ways of transportation."
Arwyn quickly drew her bow, hearing the piercing cries of the demons. I should have chosen some other course, she thought in silent rebuke, sorrow and anger filling her. I have brought this upon an innocent man and now two hobbits. How many others have I led to slaughter? she wondered, hoping against hope that no others would be trapped.
When the demons fled, Arruina got down on her knees and lifted her shirt revealing a gash in her stomach. She but a gloved hand over it and closed her eyes. Concentrating hard she healed the wounds, but not fully. Some of her insides she couldn't heal, but now there was only a scar to be seen. Standing, she pulled her shirt back down.
Arruina licked her lips, and was supprised to find two of her teeth had become slightly pointed. Then, she realized what had caused the demons to run away. A group of vampires who spoke to Vertha. And they spoke of going somewhere. It was then that Arruina remembered the glowing crystal in her pocket. Taking it out, she looked closely at it. Why was it glowing.
"Well, I'd love to come along," she said, sticking the crystal back in her pocket. "But, I would want proper burial for my friends. Though, I do know where to get horses.."
~~~~~~~~

Aaron and Saradh came up beside Arwyn. Aaron with his broadsword which he spread his black magic over, making it poisinous, and Saradh growling, showing her teeth. Aaron glanced over his shoulder to make sure the little hobbit was in hiding before turning back to face the demons as they approched...

Paloc let out a sigh of relief as the last of the demons ran. He put his pistols back in their holsters, wiped his knife clean and sheathed it as well. Pulling back his sleeve, he checked the would on his arm. It was superficial, and would likely heal on its own. His side, though... pulled back his shirt to look, Paloc winced. There was a fairly deep gash in his side, with blood still trickling from it.

He looked up at the vampires. He didn't like the idea of being around them for very long, but they were offering a quick way out of this situation. He wouldn't be able to walk far with this wound, and he wanted to get as far away from that fortress as he could. "I'll come as well" he said to the group. "just as soon as I get this cut cleaned up a bit."

Arruina looked up at Paloc, and then noticed the would on his side.
"I can heal it... a little. At least to the point where it's just a scar," she said...

Vertha and Larkus argued for several minutes. Neither for them were what one would call good friends. Finally Larkus allowed Vertha to pay her respects to the fallen Hunters. He and his bodyguards watched coldly as she helped Arruina dig graves for the fallen warriors. The demons were dragged into a bonfire.

Aryion sighed heavily and looked upon the dead bodies of the demons around him. It was a good fight and probably the first one he has never gotten injuried in. He whistled and Silvereyes came trotting over to him, his teeth spotted red with demon's blood. Aryion stroked the wolf's head tenderly before walked over to where Paloc and Arruina stood. (Well, Paloc stood and Arruina sat.)

He knelt down beside Arruina, and said softly, "I have some herbs that could help ease the pain, if you would like to use them." He said, trying to help. He felt like he intruded into the group, for he didn't know if they had known each other or not before he arrived, or for how long. He decided he would talk later, if he had the chance, and after Arruina answered, he might as well help with the burials. He knew none of these warriors himself, but any death by demon deserved more honor than lying on the ground for the bugs and creatures of the forest to come and find.

Arruina looked gratefully at Aryion but shook her head.
"I've already taken care of myself mostly," she lifted her shirts just enough to show the wound wich was just a lightly throbbing red scar now. And on the inside it was healed enough not to cause too much pain or long term damage. "I have some healing ability," she explained, then stood up.
"But, I'd appreciate it if you would help me burry my companions," she said, and started with the filthy job and was glad to find Vertha helping her...

Iris remained hidden behind the bushes. Her practical mindset told her that was the best thing she could do at that moment in time. But, simultaneously, she grew concerned about her brother. Yes, she wanted him to grow up some, but, she also did not know what she would do if he died.

-------------------

Fisco broadened a smile across his face. "Cool...." he giggled as he peered out from behind a tree at the demon army. The little hobbit did not have the right dose of common sense to get himself out of the situation. He was unarmed, unskilled, and under four feet tall, an easy kill for any of the demons nearby.
