Giada bit her lip. Harper was a good friend and commander. She trusted him. She just really didn't like winging it. She liked plans to follow and structure. Both things winging it lacked, but it was pointless to say anything. He was right. And he was the commander.

She smirked at Harpers query about questions which did not include comments. "Just one question Sir," Giada said still smirking, "do you have a plan as to getting down to the planet?"

Vala was about to reply to Harper when Giada spoke up first. She didn't look too happy, probably not too thrilled about the idea of going down to the planet with absolutely no real plan. Vala wasn't bothered by this at all. In fact she sort of liked it this way.

Giada finished speaking and Vala rasied her hand.
"So...where do I get a weapon. Unless you plan on sending me down there with just my good looks and magnetic personality?" she said with a twinkle in her eyes.

"Insertion is the easy part, we take a cloaked jumper down to the surface, landing half a klick from the Genii base. From there we go in on foot," Harper said.

Harper rolled his eyes and sighed, "Well, seeing as you get you weapons from the armoury officer at the armoury, which you are supposed to do before you get here... Can you get to the armoury and back in--" he looked at his watch "--five and a half minutes?"

Vala bit her lip. She was in such a hurry to get to the bridge she completely forgot about picking up a weapon.
"Absolutely. I'll be back before you even realise I'm gone" she smiled, with an apologetic look in her eyes.

She turned and made her way back out and towards the armoury.
"Now..." she spoke up quickly turning her head to the side "Don't go without me now." her usual demeanour returning.

Not waiting for a reply, she turned back and hurried down to the armoury.

"Sir, may I wager a bet as to how long she will be gone? How about to the sound of $50 that she will make it back with only seconds to spare?" She walked over to one of the chairs and planted herself in it looking expectedly at Harper.

And it was over. It had been confusing as all-get-out, but it was over, and the guards and the officer were down. For the moment, that was.

John noted with pleasure that his team had relieved the Genii of their weapons, also noticing that in the process, he'd gotten swiped across the cheekbone and would have a lovely bruise come morning. "All right, move it, out!" As Ronon, McKay, and Carson left the cell, he paused to flip the officer over. Hopefully he'd been a smart officer and ... yes. He was smart. He'd packed a backup pistol in a shoulder holster, which John promptly appropriated, along with the ammunition belt.

A quick, thorough search of the men further revealed their duty knives, which he took, keeping one for himself and giving one each to the Satedan and the astrophysicist. Even as they jogged down the concrete corridors, McKay was still quite capable of giving Sheppard his "what the heck do you expect me to do" look, in reference to the knife. John answered with a lopsided grin. "Just stick the enemy with the pointy end, McKay. Trust me. It works. No batteries required."

(okay, I will be pretty erratic for the next few days due to travelling, so feel free to land us in whatever trouble comes to mind, and powerplay Sheppard if you need to)

Nodding as Shepperd gave him the knife, Ronon put it into his empty blaster hoslter, for lack of a better place, and gripped the pistol in one hand and the stolen sidearm in the other. He perfered guns. His fingers were on both trigers, ready to shoot at anytime. They came to a turn in the corridors. He slowed, peering around the corner. It was empty, for now.

Giada made it to the jumper in a minute (a personal record) and started her checks with looking over the supplies making sure everything was there.

As she worked she pushed all thoughts of the Genii out of her mind. She needed to only think of the task at hand. This was getting the jumper ready and rescue their people. There would be other times for her to be annoyed with the current Genii alliance.

Once she had satisfied herself that everything was acounted for and in it's proper place Giada moved on to do a systems check. She looked down at her watch. "Two minutes left," she noted sitting down in one of the pilots chairs to to started her check.

(Erunanethiel: sure ... I guess we'll just say that Teyla has been with the Atlantis team on the Genii homeworld. If you haven't read the preceding posts, please do so - there's not that many)

The Atlantis team turned the corner, cautiously, Ronon and Sheppard in the lead, covering the angles with their guns. This next hall seemed slightly wider, which in John's opinion was good. A wider corridor meant more traffic, and more traffic meant that they were getting closer to an exit point.

It also meant that their chances of meeting hostiles - specifically, anybody else - was increased, a fact which was speedily proven by the sound of jogging boots up ahead. Boots which were not their own.

"We've got company!" Sheppard hissed, looking around at the walls for niches or nooks to shelter in. There were none. There were no doors or columns, either; just flat, smooth concrete. He made a split second decision. "Back around the corner! Wait for them there - McKay, guard our backs, make sure nobody surprises us."

The team zipped back around the corner with surprising speed, and John crouched, gun leading, peering around the corner for the first signs of attack. They came.

Ronon crouched to the side of Sheppard, sightly back, with the rest of the others behind them. The jogging foot falls grew louder as the team of Genii neared the corner of the concrete hall. Just as they were about to turn the corner, Ronon sprang up, guns at the ready, and fired.
